Looking for a group in north Fort Worth or people willing to travel. My wife and I are in a group but it has gone inactive. We are looking for a new group. We are looking to host the games at our home and can provide snacks as a bribe to the DM. We don't really like the game centers as they can be distracting, and we have two kids. Baby sitting has become an issue and we would need to host as a result. Below is a bit about us and the styles we like to play.
***Please no Pay for Play. I get you have stuff and do well at creating an immersive experience and want to be compensated for prep however I'm not interested in that nor is my wife at this time. If no other options present we can talk then***
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: I've got a few years in, the wife is new and our current group is her first. Location/Timezone: CST as we are located in Fort Worth Haslet area Availability: Currently our schedule best allows for evenings on Saturday. Our current playtimes is 7:30 pm until 11:30. This allows for less interruption. We could possibly do Sunday afternoons but would need a hard stop due to kids and family etc.. Sundays will open up in the near future Preferred role: Players. I have DM'd in AD&D but it's different world from this. Game style: Combat is my first love. I'm not a murder hobo but rather find the creativity and tactics within combat to be fascinating. I am not opposed to talking my way out if it's the better option. Second would role playing. I develop my characters as we play. I'm not coming to the table with a novel about my creation. The wife mirrors mine however she does like the backstory a bit more. She tends to create a bit of a story to help her design.
We are open to world styles as we have only played D&D modules and have enjoyed them. We are both casual laid back player who look for a enjoyable session.
We prefer like minded individuals to play with. 18+ unless your coming with the DM. We are fine with good or evil campaigns.
Group size would be 4-6 players to keep xp up and loot better distributed and it also allows for flexibility in class design without feeling like you need to play a specific role. We are even ok with the DM having a PC as we want them to enjoy the time as well.
We both have watched the critical role stuff as we find it enjoyable but we recognize they are True Professionals and do not expect that. As we are hosting we also do not expect DM's to travel with mini's and such. Digital maps are good by us. I do have a DND beyond account and a fair amount of digital books to share campaign wise. We have used Roll 20 as well.
EXPECTATIONS: we would like to play 2 -3 times per month. we know people have things come up. Also we are open to digital hybrid sessions if sometimes players can't be on site IE sickness out of town etc..
When to Start: We are game to go however we would like a full complement and a session 0 as a meet and greet with a character creation and more. We are available April 9 2022.
I know its a book. thanks for reading it. I figured a better explanation of what we are looking for means getting the right people. We are friendly and open to all players and DM's no matter who you are. We are adults playing a fantasy kids game we can be open minded and show acceptance to all.
