3 US-based players looking for a DM! Someone that's in it for the fun and running a campaign for some folks that have been out of the game for a while, but love it. We're looking for a cool DM to run our session.
Some background - we are a group of 3 players that got together most weekends for D&D sessions over 20 years ago. We've not played D&D since then, but are looking to get a game going with our old crew. We're a fun loving group that really enjoys the adventures, the laughs, and the overall experience. We're not sticks in the mud or hardcore players, we're just in it for the fun. We had a DM 20+ years ago that was great to play with, but none of us are really the DM type. We're looking to create characters on D&D Beyond and then sync up with a DM who would like to run an adventure for 3 people over a weekend in August, to start. It was the creation of D&DBeyond that inspired us to get back into it.
Hey Tetanok, I've been DMing various groups and games for probably 20 years or so. I have a bunch of adventures for different campaign settings made (or can do FR/Greyhawk/etc if that's what you'd prefer). Ping me and let's discuss?
That sounds great - this is our first time using the forum, so how does one typically go about an introduction? It may make sense to talk and find out more about your campaign style and the type of campaign you like to run, and tell you about our group. We want to make sure our group is a good fit for what you're looking for and vice versa. Any recommendations?
We are thinking of having a session the first weekend of August. That's the first weekend that works on everyone's schedule (we synced up just today). Also, our preference is that we have the first session with our group without other party members. Not to be prudes, but it's been over 20 years since all of us played and the rules have changed quite a bit. We don't want to frustrate other players while we're trying to figure out the new system. Last time I played we calculated hits by THAC0, and Armor class started at 10 and went down from there. I built a character today and it had an armor class of 16, so clearly there are some changes we'll need to dial in. The other thing is that all of us went to high school together, so we don't want to scare anyone off with inside jokes or ribbing of one another.
If this all sounds OK so far let me know your thoughts on syncing up. Happy to discuss further. Thanks!
