This will be role play heavy
So , I want to make a DND group for Sundays game. It can be bi weekly or weekly. It completely depending on the people I pick.
I have plans to either run a Homebrew game that I already have been develop over the past year or run several of modules that I already own.
I mostly want to see what the players intrest is if they join the group.
Homebrew pitch - the story will revolve around you and the rest of the group personal goals. It will be backstory driven. Over the time you play this campaign, your character will develop and a main story will develop all around your choices and how much your character goal progress. It will be a role play heavy game mostly. Occasion with combat but the world is not completely finished but you will have marks on my world depending on your character. It will be fantasy based and video game insperation here and there. Overall, I do have rules changed in my game. So don't expect forgotten realms lore.
I have several changed 5E mechanics to fit my DM style.
I will prob change them a bit to fit into my game but will change stuff here and there.
I would just like to preface this with the fact that I will be posting this with both my information and my significant others because she would like to play as well.

My wife and I are both older than 21. My wife is older than me by two years.

We are in the CST so 2 to 3 pm Sundays works perfect for us.

I won't be giving ages as I don't see how that is relevant needless to say both my wife and I are older than your 21 year old age requirement.

Yes we have decent enough internet for both of us to play we are a gaming and streaming family.

Yes we have discord accounts. I currently have a roll 20 account (free version) and I can set up my wife with one very easily.

We both have headset with good mics. I don't think either of us will be using cameras though we are both pretty camera shy.

Isn't this what all of this is for? I can send you the message but there won't be much more than what I put here.

Family emergencies, outings, and the rare burnout days where work has been particularly brutal and we may need the weekend to rest.

I have been reading and playing DND since 3.5 edition. I introduced my wife to Tabletop RPG''s with Pathfinder and we have since learned the basics of 5ed.
- are you ok with setting up a session where we do 1 on 1 DND together to see if we connect or not.
I would be okay with this, my wife would not be. If it was a session for the both of us that would be okay. She is very shy with strangers.

I don't see why not, but I'll be honest wouldn't the 1 on 1 session accomplish the same thing? Also how vigorous and intrusive is this interview?

I prefer a nice balance. What's the point of having combat abilities if you never use them? But I also enjoy being able to flex my roleplaying muscles especially if the campaign is based off of character backgrounds which I have, in the past, written at length about. My wife prefers roleplaying because she is trying to improve that aspect of her capabilities.
- what would be your character goal in the campaign?
That is entirely up to the character I make for the campaign. Same for my wife. Granted we have a few characters that we never got to explore because the groups didn't last long, but that would be quite a read. The most likely characters and goals we would use would be for my character to find a way to free his master who is imprisoned inside and sword and my wife's character would be to find a way to keep the ice elemental spirit inside her from taking over her body and mind.

Any emergencies or anything. I don't work or anything on Sundays, so I should be good to make all the sessions.

I have played a few games before. I know all of the basic rules.

I like a nice balance of roleplay and exploration and combat. I like to get into being the actual character, this is important to me. I take the time to write about my character, their motivations and their pasts. In terms of class, I don't have much of a preference. Possibly ranger or barbarian.
- what would be your character goal in the campaign?
Like the previous commenter, this will be entirely dependent on the character that I decide to play. I hope to create a well-rounded character, though

-I'm an EMT and in today world its not impossible for emergency meetings to be called over health emergencies.
How much DND experience do you have right now?
-Played and DM for a few years now, currently the Secretary and head of an Tabletop RPG club at my university

What's your preference in DND class and play style?
-I often play tankier classes like Paladins and Fighters but i prefer a protective fighting style of defending my teammates using wards, spells or by just holding back the baddies. I relish opportunities to play outside of my circle of comfort and experiment with new classes and styles.
What would be your character goal in the campaign?
-I don't have a character 100% made yet as i like to work with my DM to incorporate the game world into my back story but i had some cool concepts such as a desert wanderer ranger with their new UA subclass or possibly an Inquisitive rogue as their skills are fun to mess around with outside combat. I have lots of characters and ideas just waiting for me to give them the spark once I'm given the chance!
