Since we're all busy socially distancing (I mean, we just starting doing that, right? What is that glowing bright thing? The sun? Huh?) I figured I'd finally bite the bullet and try to start up agroup here. All the details, down below:
Campaign setting: Eberron. I'm not going to draw exclusively from existing locations, but will include locations in Khorvaire and possibly Xen'drik if the party winds up there.
Characters: Start at level 1, but we'll be level 3 by the end of the first couple sessions unless something goes terribly wrong. Any official sources are allowed (even non-Eberron, but excluding Unearthed Arcana and homebrew). I tend to allow any character motivations and goals, but your character should be compatible with the rest of the group at least a little. I'm looking at you, Genocide McEdgelord the Party Killer. Characters should be lore friendly, though if we need to stretch things a bit that's fine. A little splash of Planescape here, a little bit quantum mechanics there and oh look it's an excuse for that weird race to show up in Eberron. I'll be sharing most of the D&D Beyond books, and if you want something from a book that I don't have, well, I'll probably end up getting it soon anyway.
Platforms: Discord for voice and general communication, digital tabletop to be decided.
Content level: PG-13 preferred. Please be respectful of the limits and comfort levels of people at the table.
Experience level: All are welcome- beginners and veterans alike. If you are a newer player and would like help with character creation or systems, please feel free to ask. I tend to run a blend of narrative gameplay and crunchy math, so there should be something there for everyone.
Playstyle: Backstory driven sandbox. I'll suggest plot threads drawn from party members' backstories, some history of Eberron after the Last War, and some other encounters, but I think players should be free to engage with the world how they want. If there are issues with party decision making, I'll moderate the process, but I want to make sure everyone can engage and have their voice heard in the story.
Session times: 7 PM ET every Friday. Please only try to join if that works for you somewhat reliably. My job may occasionally intrude, as I may have to answer a phone call or, in worst case scenarios, run out if there's an emergency, but I would expect that to be very rare (never really happens, just a disclaimer). If you have a scheduled conflict, please let the group know two days in advance if possible. Session zero for prep is planned for March 27th, with weekly sessions starting the first or second week of April depending on how soon the group can be ready. Additional sessions may be available in the short term due to, well, you know, but only if everyone can make it. I'm still working, for the time being, but I'll try to respond in a timely manner.
If you're interested in joining, please let me know. I would prefer if you at least have an idea of your character's backstory and party role, though I usually treat the first few sessions as a time to grow a bit, so we can tweak things down the road if necessary.
Hey I would love to join your game, Ive been playing dnd for awhile now and love making characters with cool back stories that twist in with the world around where we are playing, I love voice acting and hope to hear back from you :) My discord is Maple#8640
