Hi there! I'm starting up a weekly Ravnica-based online campaign, and I need some players looking for fun and a good time. I've got a master subscription and all of the player-relevant sourcebooks, and these resources should make this campaign very new-player friendly!
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online - Definitely Discord, Possibly Roll20 Experience: ~3 years, 95% as an in-person DM for my friends (DMs are so rare D:) Location/Timezone: ET Schedule: Determined by group consensus, but probably something like 1pm-3pm ET on Saturdays or Sundays, probably every week? Roles sought: 4 players of any experience, with minimal Ravnica knowledge Game style: Even split between exploration, social interaction, and combat. Fairly sandbox-y, with the players deciding most of their goals. Even the ultimate villains will highly depend on your choices.
If you're interested, send me the following data in a direct message on DnDBeyond (just click on my username).
My experience with DnD, fifth edition:
Why I want to play:
A bit about the character style I'd probably play (not set in stone):
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD (games seen on YouTube count!):
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat:
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week:
My brief thoughts on the fact that this game is going to be cooperative, friendly, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive, with zero room for hate speech, unkindness towards the other players, or Player-vs-Player content such as stealing or backstabbing (I will be auto-rejected if I give a wrong answer!):
Note that I'm probably going to keep taking these mini applications until Saturday, April 11th, while I prep some more material, so don't expect a response from me before then!
Why I want to play: Ive been dm'ing for my friends to get them into dnd but at my heart I am a player and I want to play as a PC.
A bit about the character style I'd probably play (not set in stone): I have plenty of Ideas for characters a few in my mind are A disenfranchised member of a club of duelists. A Tiefling who is in line to be a leader of hell. A Painter Tabaxi rogue that finds beauty in all that he can.
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD (games seen on YouTube count!): If youtube counts its hard not to say something from critical role I thought the whole Thordak and Vecna fights were glorious. In a personal game I remember a game where my cleric and party encountered an evil god and I was able to get a good enough role to have my god save a few of us.
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat: I like both, I think Roll 20 is nice just to have order and a place to strategies
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week: I would personally prefer every week
My experience with DnD, fifth edition: Exp (5th edition) is only resent, mostly just messing about with the character creation and looking at the homebrew stuff. DND as a whole, since 3rd edition.
Why I want to play: been looking to find a group for a while, last proper campaign played was 3rd edition & really enjoyed it
A bit about the character style I'd probably play (not set in stone): i have a few ideas but i am really looking at some of the home brew, so would like to know the restrictions on that.
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD (games seen on YouTube count!): i think critical role as a whole is really good ( the one shot of The Adventures of the Darrington Brigade very funny) , but i think beyond heros moments of when the team is trying to stop the god of light from handing the souls to the demon.
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat: N/A , never tried Rol20 before, i have heard of it, would be interesting to use it
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week: preferably every week
My experience with DnD, fifth edition: Honestly, I am really new to this
Why I want to play: Sense we all need to stay away from people, I can't play anymore with my friends, so I wanted to start here and make some new friends. Cause I am lonely.
A bit about the character style I'd probably play: I would most likely Casual and some roleplaying.
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD: On the channel Dingo Doodles, fought a "crazy lady", who had chopped off his hand and replaced it with a enchanted crocodile hand, with his own hand and like another dozen hands with whip around them.
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat: I would like to do Roll20, but I would be fine with the other way as well
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week: I prefer to play every week zero room for hate speech, unkindness towards the other players, or Player-vs-Player content such as stealing or backstabbing: I am completely fine with being cooperative, friendly, and inclusive. I have a few friends LGBTQIA+ I promise to be kind to the other members and won't disrespect your rules.
Played quite a bit of pathfinder back in the day and have played a few one shots in 5e.
Why I want to play:
Want to go on an adventure, see exotic lands, and have fun with some folks.
A bit about the character style I'd probably play (not set in stone):
I normally run a mercenary mother goose of sorts. Being a relaxed person and making sure that my compatriots are well taken care of.
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD (games seen on YouTube count!):
The coolest thing I have seen and done in person is when my character die at the end campaign by throwing the Big Bad off a cliff, saving what little of the party was left. As for YouTube, I really enjoy Roll4it, thought the Critical Role episode with a big vampire battle was pretty cool.
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat:
I used Roll20 a few times, I’m used to IRL play or using tabletop simulator.
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week:
Every week works fine with me.
This suits me fine, I prefer a relaxed environment where we can all have fun.
I am currently in my first 5e campaign set in Eberron. I have participated in a couple other homebrew one shots
Why I want to play:
I used to host a game night at my place in addition to dnd now my schedule is more boring :/
A bit about the character style I'd probably play (not set in stone):
I was thinking of playing an Izzet Wizard. I have mostly played meele characters and I think this would be a good bridge into learning to operate as a full spell caster
The coolest thing I've ever seen happen in DnD (games seen on YouTube count!):
*SPOILER ALERT FOR DUNGEONS AND DADDIES PODCAST*
TL;DR: The four Dads murdered the Vampire lord by shoving his head into the Bears fanny-pack-of-holding and then destroyed it, in turn decapitating his head into the astral plane
Whether I would prefer Roll20 vs theater of the mind in combat:
Roll20 but not a deal breaker
Whether I'd prefer to play every week or every other week:
Every other week but not a deal breaker
My brief thoughts on the fact that this game is going to be cooperative, friendly, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive, with zero room for hate speech, unkindness towards the other players, or Player-vs-Player content such as stealing or backstabbing (I will be auto-rejected if I give a wrong answer!):
Extremely excited and looking forward to having fun!
