Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: 5 Newbies Looking for Introduction to D&D Location/Timezone: California Schedule: Saturday or Sunday Nights after 8pm, Weekly (Hopefully) Roles sought: DM who can educate us. Game style: We don't know yet...probably more on the casual side getting started.
Looking for a newbie-friendly DM to take a group of players under their wing and teach us the ways of D&D.
We are a group of 5 guys in our 30s who went to college together and are now spread across California. Initially, we're hoping to just get started with an intro session or two for testing the waters and to weed out anyone in the group that finds this isn't for them. For those still interested, hopefully we can start a new campaign, and you'll be welcome to continue steering the ship if you're having a good time.
None of us have much experience with tabletop roll playing games, although we have varying experience with video games and board games.
Availability would most likely be Saturday or Sunday nights starting around 8:00 pm (pacific time) weekly (hopefully).
We don't know exactly what we want, but all is well if we have a good time. I'm sure we could shell out some beer money or the cost of a precooked campaign, if it would help get the ball rolling. We'll try our best not to get too silly.
Open to whatever online platform(s) makes sense, since we're all new to this ourselves. You tell us what you think will work.
Would you guys be able to start at 10pm PST and run for 4 hours? If so I have two perfect campaigns. One is a short 2 week dungeon crawl with a bunch of action and a little bit of RP tied in. 70% action 30% RP. And then after we see who wants to stay or go I have a 6 to 8 week adventure that will take your new characters from level 1 to level 4 or 5 "depending on how many of the side quests you do".
If you're interested let me know. The time of 10pm PST is firm though, I DM another session that ends at 9:30, so that gives me 30 minutes to wrap up and get ready to run the show for you guys. Contact me via Discord - Vizual#8094
Thank you for the quick response. I don't think the schedule is going to work at the moment, but we may reach out in the future depending on how things go.
Thank you, we got a good response here and on roll20. I'm gladdened to see such an active and supportive online community around D&D. We are currently talking to a potential candidate, but may reach out if it doesn't work out.

Hey, Snorville!
I'm a DM looking for a brave group of adventurers, such as yourselves...
My time matches yours, and I think it would be great to have the chance to guide new players into the D&D world.
