I am the GM of a campaign set in the recent Ghosts of Saltmarsh module. Unfortunately due to schooling we have lost one of our players, our cleric. We are hoping to fill the ‘healer’ role in our party.
We do not necessarily need another Cleric, but we do need a class that can fit the healer role (Druid, Paladin, or some other class that can creatively heal the party).
Our current party is a Ranger, Rogue, and Fighter. They are currently at level 4, with Experience Points used as progression. Our style is casual but also character/RP-focused. We crack jokes and have some chatter but mostly use the session for progressing the story. We play every Friday at 6:30PM EST, assuming everyone can make it, for ~4 hours with a 20 minute break.
You will be able to make a character at level 4-5, depending on your concept. All races and classes as per the Adventurer’s League are open to you. Lizardfolk and Sea Elves are also allowed, though both these options come with some bit of a pre-made backstory.
Right now, our story is such that the characters are about to go on a voyage to find a ship thought to be lost to a storm years ago… but it has recently reappeared, holding with it mystery, treasure, and untold dangers. But before that, our adventurers have also found, during a town-wide party, that there were a series of robberies - including some of their own homes!
If you are interested, please do the following:
Commit to being available from 6:30PM-11:00PM EST every Friday (not the end of the world if you need to call out sometimes)
Have Discord (no need to post username)
Give a rough concept of your character/class. Maybe a personality blurb. Does not need to be long or have the nitty-gritty of their backstory in it. You can save the backstory for me, your DM.
We welcome newbies, as a few of the players in our party were newbies when they started.
If you are chosen, you will be given access to a copy of the CRB as well as the Saltmarsh-specific backgrounds as an option for your own character creation. I am available for help with character creation/plotting most nights of the week via voice, providing we make an appointment together, and am almost always available to text through Discord.
Applications will close Tuesday, June 2nd, and our new player will be promptly DMed through DNDBeyond.
I am pretty new to playing D&D but have been watching for a few years now. I have a half-orc druid that i would love to try out as a healer. I have played as a cleric in pathfinder in the past for few sessions. I am available for 6:30pm -11:00pm EST (later too if we just cant seem to stop) and discord as well. I have permission from the wife to play every Friday. Of course there is always the possibility that i will have a work emergency that will require me to work late sometime but not very often.
Short Character Bio:
Nevith was almost left for dead when his mother was wounded shortly after birth by angry townsfolk hearing of the "abomination." The mother ran as far into the woods as she can before falling from her wounds. The following morning, Nevith is found by a neighboring Druid of the forest on his morning hunt, Nevith is taken under his wing and is taught the way of nature, healing, and Druid magics. While they are both no stranger to civilization. they have lived life mostly in solitude deep in the forest. Shortly after reaching around 20 years of age, the Druid that found Nevith as a baby fall's ill and passes away. With nothing left in the world holding him to one place, Nevith decides to travel and see the word, meeting other creatures, animals, and new magics.
Nevith has a better time communicating with animals more than with other humanoid creatures. He is friendly but, hard to gain trust from. He has a good since of justice in the world and can see things as more than just black or white. Survival has been a way of life since birth making him proficient in harsh living conditions.
I am open to changes of any kind, especially if you want some sort of back story for campaign progression!

Hey there, I'm interested! I'm Zrikee (he/him), 31 and from Germany - looking for a committed group. Been mostly DMing off and on for the last 5 years very casually but rarely got to chance to put the player hat on. I don't have a fully fleshed out character concept/background but I would be interested in trying out a celestial healer warlock. I'm kind of a goof when it comes to characters so my first idea was "Sister Wallace" - goblin celestial warlock who believes she is a cleric - or at least pretends. How she fits in in the campaign setting - who knows?! I would like to hear a little about the campaign and what the players experienced so far to come up with something. I'm also flexible when it comes to race/class if you don't like my first pitch. Thanks for your consideration!
Hello! Im fairly new as ive only been playing around half a year but id love to join! Im female/live in the UK but please dont worry about the time difference! Im a night owl and my two other games are also on NA time.
Here is a smoll blurb.
The character I have in mind is a Female/ Triton (CN) - Tempest Cleric This character is the stereotypical "fish out of water" type character and is for the most part oblivious to the world above the sea. She is eager to learn and explore , tho this might get her in some trouble from time to time.
I've played Pathfinder for a while, but i'm new to dnd 5e. I have a character from PF that's an Aasimar druid, but I can change the race per dnd races. my character, Willow, is def a healer. She's not really shy, but she's nervous so she gets rambly but I believe a good campaign could change her confidance! Character development is a fav of mine. As for me, I'm not too shy at first, but I interact as much as possible. I'd love to delve back in on this character, and I think w/ my experience w PF makes me capable to play DND :) pls consider me, I'd kill to play
Hi I'm Izzy I'm 34 year old trans woman (she/her) I have moderate dnd experience done a few campaigns.
I would play Sophia Asteraoth an aasimar life domain cleric. Sophia is an acolyte of the Order of First Defense that worships zariel. The highest members of the order are protector aasimar that descend from this fallen angel. the order believes that Zariel was correct and that the ongoing blood war must be fought and won. the order dedicates itself to her signing over their souls as part of the consecration ritual to a full member of the order. once consecrated the new order member ventures out to gain power and souls. the souls to bolster Zariel's forces and power so that upon death can be reborn as a favored arch devil to follow in their ancestor's footsteps and become fallen angels themselves serving Zariel for eternity.
Sophia thinks of herself as lawful good and is dedicated to life and is a super positive upbeat character but the actions she takes as essentially a brainwashed cultist can be interpreted by others as evil.
Hello, I would love to help round out the party. I used to play and DM a lot back in 3e days, but it has been almost 10 years since then, so I am a returning player. I have been reading up on new rules in the PHB and DMG, and looking for a game to join. I can definitely commit to 630pm until late (est) Friday nights. There may be the odd time work calls me up but that has not happened on a Fri night once in the last 2 years working there.
I would like (but am completely flexible) to play a Life Domain Cleric, a former soldier who cannot commit his life to such a large organization anymore, and is looking for a small party of friends to protect and travel with. A loyal, pragmatic individual, dedicated to his fellows, with some dark memories and an unconquered fear. Obedient and trusting of his god, but not overly religious. He is used to holding the line, with the heaviest armor he can find, while healing and protecting, with his magic and even his own body, as best he can.
I created a level 4 half-elf cleric, I kept it pretty basic, based on the league and PHB, I can share him with you if you like. But always open to adjust and work with the DM and party.
Thank you for considering me, good luck with your campaign!
