About Me
Hello folks! I am Joel, and I've been passionate about Role Playing Games for many many years now. I've worked for the video game industry in the South East Asian region and I am a huge fan of musical theater. I've been introduced to the world of D&D quite late (I started as player in the 2nd quarter of 2019) and have been DMing tabletop sessions for a close group of friends and been doing one-shots in online D&D communities. I've been a part of the Bipolar Dice Roller Community and have been getting great support and training in running games on Roll20.
Even though I am fairly new as a professional DM - my commitment to my players is to be 100% engaged, focused and adaptable during our sessions. I'm also available and very easy to approach for any questions even outside our game sessions. Moreover, your feedback as player would be always appreciated for my continuous improvement. Every session, I want to have the best gaming experience with you, and with your help - I definitely think this can be achievable!
I am looking for passionate and committed players to start this DnD journey with me. As a DM, I more well-versed in tactical combat encounters, and themes on exploration but I am going to give my all and won't shy way for the occasional RP encounters. The goal of each session, is to have a good balance and more importantly - to have a FUN session! Session 0 would always be free for you to get a sense whether I would be the type of DM for you.

Why pay for a game?
I am often asked what the point is in paying for a game and I know that most people who ask that question have already decided their opinion on doing so. However, for those of you still on the fence, allow me to offer you the benefits of a paid game:
- The Game Master is financially obligated to show up and give their best.
- The Players are financially obligated to show up and not let their money go to waste.
- Exclusivity. The competition for spaces in free games is astronomically high, there are too many players and not enough games.
- Taking payment allows me to work on my games full time, this ensures all the required preparation is done and constant contact is possible.
- Material costs are covered by your payment. Buying resources to use in games is covered by the DM and access to all of Roll20's content is available to you via Compendium Sharing.
- As an additional perk - You will also have access to all D&D sourcebooks FOR FREE electronically through DnD Beyond as long as you are part of my current campaign / player pool (I'm a Pro DnD Beyond Subscriber as well)
- Pro features are available. API scripts, visual effects and standard resources are all covered by the DM's subscription
Character Creation
Any setting relevant official sourcebook or online resource are permitted for use. Homebrew content must be cleared by myself personally prior to character creation.
If you wish to play an evil character in a party constituting non-evil characters, you must come up with a watertight reason for that character cooperating with the party.
You can use any method to attain your stats. When rolling you must do it where the rest of the group can see it. Rerolls are only permitted if your stats average 11 or lower (rounded down) or you highest stat is a 14 or lower. You only get to reroll once, you may then choose which of the two sets of rolls you wish to use or you can choose one of the other methods for attaining stats.
Backstory: Having a backstory is not mandatory, but it is definitely encouraged! If you wish to write one I will do my best to incorporate it into the main story (backstories intrinsically linked to the flavour of the campaign are gold dust!).

He is private about his personal life, most of the money he makes as a merchant go to different preservations of the wilds. He always sends annonomously as he has been attacked for having money before, including being attacked by a man posing as a valued friend for years. An artificer dragonborn named Paltrun befriend him and Chim sold his wears for years. Paltrun betrayed Chime taking his hard saved earnings and killing his seedling wife with his fire breath. Your Discord ID and Number: Cassassin #9469
Your Character's Name: Shep das Traumerin (the Dreamers)
Your Character's Class: Ranger
Your Character's Race: Half-elf
A Little Info About Your Character:
Shep das Traumerin bears the name of her Human mother's father's name (Shep), and the name of her half-elven father's family (die Traumer, or "the Dreamers", or das Traumerin for singular reference).
She grew up camping with her father, caring for the riverland coursing through the mountains near the small village where she grew up, and foraging for food, wood, and furs to trade. His stories and songs taught to her in elvish kindled an inquisitive and curious nature. After her father's death, she spent many hours at the village crypt honouring his passing with her mother in the tradition of the village's ways of ancestor memorialisation. It was in this way she developed her passion for personal histories, spending time amongst the epitaphs of the multitudes buried and dessicated in the crypt. She was bequeathed a number of books by her father and from here learned not only that he was half-elven, but had lived a full century before settling here. From these texts she taught herself some rudimentary Halfling as well as reading his diary in Elvish. Now, following the death of her recently deceased mother and the ritual funerary rites, Shep wants to learn of the century her father spent before settling in their village, and of the environments and histories of those of the outside world where he travelled and noted in his diaries.
She is a skilled ranger, and familiar with the ways of the undead, and of mountainous regions and waterways, learned through the prism of her father's teachings and the lore of her village. The wisdom of her father is everpresent, and she reads and rereads his stories of other lands and other places to the advantage and wonder of herself and others travelling with her.
What You are Looking for: A consistent group to have fun with and experience the word of dnd with.
Your Discord ID and Number: Watchtower#6663
