Completely new player who needs guidance.

Location/Timezone: Ohio/Eastern Standard Time
Availability: Late night, after 10pm
Preferred role: Player
Game style: Extremely casual, as in I’m going to need a tutor (for lack of a better word). I want to learn the game, and I want to be taught by a person (or people) who will be patient and informative. All I have at my disposal is the D&D Beyond app and the free books within them. I want to learn this game before I invest heavily in it; in a financial sense. I am also a quick learner and I can think outside of the box, but I learn best by jumping in and picking up on everything as I go. I would like help setting up a character and advised on things I should acquire (apps, sheets, etc.) to help me along.

Would you be interested in a game that starts at 2:00est?  I'm pretty good at teaching new players, I just ask that you do a little bit of research first to understand the very basics.  "Youtube tutorial videos are a great place to start". 

I can run pretty much any campaign you would be interested in playing.

The problem I know that will get in my way is I work second shift half the week and double shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. My schedule at work switches, so I can’t definitely commit to games until I know my schedules. 

As for reading up and the YouTube videos, I’ve been doing that. I have a basic idea on how to play (I also used to play very casually when I was a teenager, which was 20 years ago). I remember some stuff from back then but I know things change through the years. I honestly would like to pick at people’s brain privately (Facebook messenger, DMs, Discord, whatever) before I jump in with two feet. 

It would need to be 2am EST.
