i don't know much about how to play, but i want to have the experience. i watched youtube videos about peoples experiences with D&D and wanted to try it out for myself.
big magic? long story? big items? engaging story? big swords? casual conversation? big shields? Focused gameplay? mini-maxing? massive treasure piles? difficult traps? singular path to success? open sandbox? plans to be the DPS? plans to be support? plans to be the healer? plans to be the tank? dank dungeons? groups of monsters? single bosses? urban exploration of cities? some? none? all? calculated XP? milestone points? maritime combat? aerial assaults? forestial fear? desert danger? small-party quickness? large-party protection? lots of rests? 72 hour stretches of intensity? Gods saving you? Running on unproven faith? devilish deals? paying the consequences? romance written in? racial discussion? Slavery of bestial races? Elemental enervation? Cruelty?
What kind of story do YOU want to help tell?
My story is currently the Dungeon of the Mad Mage in the 3rd basement with 7th Lvl adventurers. We meet on Wednesdays at 3PM AZ time(yes, I know that is a weird time zone, I am VERY aware) but if you are slightly late we are okay with that.
i'm not looking for a specific type of story to help tell. i'm just looking for the experience of playing a RPG like this, though i am a fan of the horror, mystery, and paranormal genres. this is my first time with only one character that's at Lvl 2 and i don't know if it's at a good level to play at with 7th Lvl adventurers, though my character's good for coming in at any point of the game plot wise. as for how i'll help the team/play the game(as in planing to be a healer, tank, etc.), i don't plan to be anything how i'll help will almost completely depend on the situation. I think we match, but i can't play today though. i'm busy with some things where i'm at (plus the time for me will be 6PM, i don't know how long the sessions will be, and i don't know how to join a session online), but next week i might be able to join. the story sounds amazing (though i know absolutely nothing about the story or any of the D&D stories) and i would love to play! if there's anything i need to know, like what the story's about, if my character's isn't the right level, if i need physical dice or not, please let me know and i'll join next week.

What are you hoping to get out of D&D?

Do we match?

We would be using Discord for Voice/(Video if we use video). https://discord.gg/hn3SXej
We would be using DnDBeyond(This site) for sheets.
We would be using Roll20 for maps.
We would be using the Beyond20 extension for Chrome/Firefox to send DnDBeyond rolls to Roll20.
thanks! i'll hopefully join next week.
