Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Roll20 & Discord) Experience: A Couple years Location/Timezone: PST Schedule: Monday & Thursday 9:00 PM PST (usually runs between 2 1/2 to 3 hours) Roles sought: 2 players Game style: Slightly more RP than combat.
I have a campaign that is currently underway and we are about 44 sessions in. It is a homebrew world with a few restrictions on races and classes. I'm trying to stay to the core PHB for now and the land the group is in has a deep-seated hatred for most types of magic users and bestial races because of the previous king. I'm willing to work with ideas and you would be starting out as level 4. But I want people who are comfortable with rp and are understanding if certain situations get dark or push boundaries (nothing outrageously offensive) they let me know and I will work with any grievances. For example one person got kidnapped and their magical energy drained out of them for 10 days through versions of torture. To some that wouldn't be much but to others it might stir up some feelings and I'm okay with privately talking about that. We have guys and girls in the group so be respectful but the party is 18+ because adults talk about adult material sometimes and with adult language. The group is currently 5 strong. Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian, Bard, Monk. I would like people who can come up with a decent backstory and really get into their character because I'm tired of party members having to pick up slack in RP situations because people don't want to talk and then get upset with me when they don't get special items or Exp. There are level up milestones in my campaign but Exp is used for the majority and I give experience for everything done not just combat. I'm hoping to either find the one perfect fit to balance out the party or two people who would be open to weaving their backstories together and getting introduced to the party. There is currently a war happening so it allows for a lot of things to be possible but I'm really looking for those that are either confident in Rp or want to become and want a good group of RP players to really help them along. If this sounds like you please note the time of the campaign it is west coast US late night starting at 9pm and we usually go to around midnight sometimes stopping short sometimes going long so please factor that in before responding.
If I find some good people for this I have another group that meets only on Sundays I might look to fill in a couple slots in their party as well.
Hello! This sounds like a very interesting game, and the time slot is perfect for me, I live in Alaska so 8pm Monday and Thursday sounds excellent.
I'm fairly new to D&D just a year and some change under my belt as a player, but I've been listening to D&D podcasts for about 4 years and really love the game.
I would like to play a cleric and could roll up a new character for the campaign. I would love to hear more about the world so I could come up with a backstory that works for your campaign.
I am very interested in joining. Im fairly new to D&D but I have a lvl 2 halfling ranger named Joe Joe and here's his backstory if this helps to weave him into your ongoing story...
Not a lot is known about his past other than what he decides to divulge. Truthfully, his past is riddled with close calls and one significant period of his life when he was imprisoned and held as a slave play thing to amuse a giant. He holds this part of his life from almost all because of the shame he carries with it. As luck would have it, especially with this halfling, he was the fortunate benefactor of a group of adventures passing through who decided to slay this giant and release the halfling from his captivity. He swore an oath that day if any of the party who helped save his life call upon him for help, he would join their adventure - only then would he feel he has fulfilled his debt to these wandering adventurers. Once he regained his health, Joe Jo decided he would never be caught off guard and imprisoned again - not if he could help it. He has spent every day since, training to become the best halfling he can be. He has learned his way around a couple melee weapons and maybe more importantly, any enemy should be warned if Joe Jo decides to pull anything out of his bag. He may be small but he packs a punch in some way or another. More than anything, since that fateful day when he was granted freedom, he wonders when will he have to begin to fulfill his promise to these that gave him so much...and if he will be ready for the challenge.
Hi I'm really interested in joining your party, I am new to D&D but I think I could pick up on it quickly. I'm 18 years old with a creative mind, who's okay with dark and crazy situations.
About me: I'm a 20 year old Meteorological Technician for the Canadian Armed Forces, currently undergoing indefinite quarantine and filling the void with tons of DND! I fell in love with the game about two years ago and have really engrossed myself within it. The game is fantastic, but what got me to stay was the community. I play for the people I'm playing with, and I'm generally a very laid back and relaxed individual. That being said, I do invest greatly into the roleplay and spare no effort in doing my best to ensure everyone enjoys their experience.
Experience: Im well established in DND 5E. I am comfortable roleplaying and am familiar with most mechanics, and have put a great deal of effort into become as good of a roleplayer as I can be.
Location/Timezone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Preferred role: I typically fall into the role of pragmatic voice of reason in the party but that is entirely dependant on the character I am playing.
Game style: I am interested in campaigns focused on Roleplay and intercharacter interaction with combat utilised as a story device rather than as a time filler. My ideal ratio therein is 80/20. Personally I prefer grimdark low fantasy settings however I am not adversed to participating in high fantasy. I believe Dungeons and Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game and thus I expect cooperation between the DM and players, adversarial DMing is not something I find enjoyable so please avoid that. The most important factor, however, is the people we are playing the game with. I'm a friendly guy looking for some friendly people to enjoy this game with, thats the sum of it.
