I am looking to create a campaign that is more of an open-world centered around a city played through Discord. This would not be a single story campaign!
Players would be able to move about the city on their own quests or open and run their own shops, guilds, taverns etc.
The idea would be to house upwards of 25 players with multiple DMs. Rather than running full blown campaigns, DMs would run small, independent encounters and/or work as moderators helping to facilitate and regulate role-play between players and players and NPCs. The main goal is to encourage role-play and creativity as well as to grown and learn your individual characters.
Additionally, with a larger player and DM base, there would be more playable days. This would allow players to play on a chosen day or multiple days; or even change days they play on. The could also move between groups, rather than remain with a single party or another thus allowing them to broaden their character's backstory and history.
I am curious if this is something other players may be interested in exploring.

This sounds interesting especially since I'm extremely new so I would be able to meet new people who play, but I'm not sure how all of this works quite yet. If you're allowing newbies this sounds like a lot of fun :)
