Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Solid 2 years of multiple games. Location/Timezone: West coast (PST) Availability: While I can be available anytime during the day, I tend to be available in the afternoons especially Sundays Preferred role: Player Game style: In short, Casual/Roleplay based.
With the basic template out of the way, may as well explain more about myself and what I’m looking for. For my 16 months of experience I played 5 campaigns, all were casual and more RP than combat. Some DMs have been better than others, but I loved everything we did. My first and favorite DM was able to build great stories around a character without a backstory, making a great plot of discovering what he had made for him, and it was a fun string to pull. That said, I’m the kind of person that gets really into a character and invests a lot into their background and personality (My record is 6 pages, with backstories for connected NPCs). I love to build more lighthearted and happy characters, though each with some flaw(s) to work through or path to discover. The rest of my experience, being the last 6+ months, have been spent in West marches. It has been a great way to get a fill, coming from a group that missed 9 of 12 scheduled games to a game every week. However, anyone familiar with a west march game knows that it’s fairly combat centered and the story can be lacking at times. Currently I’m an administrator of a group of 35 active members and 5 DMs, the only downside being the game is hardcore and too stressful to continue as my sole game.
I am looking for a group that can meet once a week at the same scheduled time, I’ve had issues with on the fly scheduling and just want to avoid it. It would be preferred if the group also maintains midweek RP for downtime. Ex. Maybe the game runs at real time and a day irl Is a day in game and players RP what they do for those days. This is mostly due to my own drive to play my characters more… an enthusiastic impatience. I hope that the group I find is just as enthusiastic and dedicated as me, cares more about flavor than numbers, cares for character development, and isn’t afraid to act on the characters flaws. I haven’t been around the block enough to make good early judgements on a group, with how well it will work for me, so if I do join it might be temporary, but if it isn’t I look forward to running for years with a group I love.
