[NOT LOOKING ANYMORE!!! PEOPLE WHO REPLIED CAN STILL CHECK THO XP]
Greetings fellow adventurers,
We, a group of 4 (3 players and a DM), are looking for a fourth player to join our weekly online sessions. - Time SaturdayEU CEST starts around 18:00-19:00 or EST/EDT GMT-5/GMT-4 which would be around 12:00-13:00 - Each sessions runs for roughly 3 hours. - Sometimes Sunday (depends if someone has to work early) so keep that in mind.
While the group started with another player, unfortunately we had to part ways due to the interests for the game of said player not being aligned with that of the group.
Our party consists of the following; An Eladrin Druid, Human Sorcerer (ex-bard), Half-Drow Rogue, played by the players, the DM plays along as a Kobold Monk, which has been unanimously accepted by the group.
The DM runs a published campaign as a foundation for the story with some freedom of movement and homebrew elements to enhance the game, providing a reasonable degree of player flexibility.
We are nearing the end of our first adventure, so you would join us at the start of a new one. The group is high energy in and outside of the sessions and we are very open with each other on our Discord.
What are we looking for? - Someone who likes to roleplay, at least act as the character would. (Don’t worry, you don’t have to do any voices but if you can, great!) - Enjoy dungeon crawling (we want to discover every room!) - Flawed character over min maxing - A player who is at least 18 years old, (we have mixed ages and want to be able to discuss adult stuff without having to worry too much about age. That said we don’t drive on romance or horny bards, if the moment allows it, sure, but it isn’t our main focus) - Someone who understands there is no ‘I’ in ‘Team’ and exploring & combat is a team effort, if an opportunity arises for someone to shine we allow that player their moment. - Clear communication with the group if you can’t make it, preferable in advance so we can plan any other moment where possible.
As a class we are open for anything, however having an extra healer or someone who can tank would be great, which would allow us to handle more difficult combat too.
We are looking for a person who we feel like fits the most within our group. This means the post isn’t a first come first serve and a reply with only ‘ I’m interested’ will not be taken seriously. (Sorry!)
Here are a few questions we would like you to answer so we can make our choice a little easier.
First questions are some basic ones; - What is your experience with D&D? - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group? What do you bring to the (virtual) table? What Class would you plan on playing? Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Keep in mind we will put you on trial for the first sessions so when things don’t work out, no harm no foul! The most important thing is that everyone enjoys their time! But as mentioned we are looking for that extra member to complete our group. We only have a seat for 1 player in mind so we will be picky, but if there are two of you, I say dazzle and amaze us and maybe the dm will allow another extra player ;)
We look forward to seeing who will be joining our next adventure and possibly become part of the group.
howdy! i would be very interested, depending on how you plan on running the game, I personally would love to find a group that allows me to RP. I ah... dont know how to go about this, im much better when you talk to me so i suppose i will start with your questions:
- What is your experience with D&D? - I have been Playing D&D for 10 years now, I played 3.5, AD&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulu, Mutants and masterminds, and all that - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? - YES! infact I would preffer to run it like this - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) - Most likely, i am unreligous and have a very open schedule - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) -Role playing, able to act as my character, play my character, and interact and create dynamics with the party while working with them while also not being useless in combat. based on what you guys Have in the party I will likely shoot for a Barbarian of some sort (I havent played Barbarian in 5e yet and I'm curious about it)
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group? - Honestly, im bored and have nothing better to do, i have fallen out with my IRL group because they all have jobs and lives, and I have been unable to play games with them and their Schedules What do you bring to the (virtual) table? -I wouldnt consider myself be be bringing anything unique to the table other than my own personality, devotion to learn and play with others What Class would you plan on playing? -based on what you have: a Barbarian. however i normally play mage types so this will be a first for me, I might also Play a Paladin or a Cleric.... Probably a Cleric... yes i will likely be a cleric depending on what i brew up if accepted. Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) - I am a Dude, of the Bro category Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character? - Sadly, i have never seen Critical role.
Hello there, my name is Andrei but I mostly go by Bronze because it rolls of the tongue better, I am an 18 yo guy from eastern Europe and I would love to join your group since it just so happen's I've been searching for a group to play with on Saturdays.
- What is your experience with D&D?
Somewhat new to the game, been playing for about three months now.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
Yes to all three.
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
I am completely available on Saturday but it's mostly a day by day type of deal with Sunday, I am sorry if this is a deal breaker.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
I am really looking for a mix of everything, don't get me wrong I love roleplay but I also like some combat sprinkled in there to spice things up.
-Why do you want to join our group?
I like having fun and meeting new people, joining the group would hopefully lead to both :P
-What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
I am more of a laid back person and prioritize the group having a good time over anything else, I am a team player and like to believe I am a pretty chill guy.
-What Class would you plan on playing?
I plan on playing a warforged fighter or cleric, whichever suits the group better.
-Are you a Lady or a Gentleman?
I am a gentleman.
-Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Sadly I haven't watched critical role, but I've been meaning to get into it for a while.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully I make the cut <3
Hey! i am interested in joining your group! i recently ended a longtime campaign with a few friends of mine so ive been looking for something new to join!
- What is your experience with D&D?: I've been playing since i was about 16? and i am 20 now, though i've always had a love for ttrpgs and games of the sort! - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?: Yes! i dont use Roll 20 very often but i know it's not too difficult. - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed): i have no issues with that! its probably better that i play on the weekends anyway - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix): I really enjoy doing RP, being a character and experiencing the world as they do is a part of the fun! and dont get me started on puzzles man i LOVE PUZZLES
Why do you want to join our group?:Well first of all, i'd like to makes some new dnd friends! but also, my last big campaign just ended and i still have the itch to create stories and make some crazy memories!! What do you bring to the (virtual) table?: My friends used to say that im a "glue player", i find what the party needs and i fill a void. you need some upbeat jokester to balance out the angst? im your dude! you need a more serious 'mom-friend' to keep the warlock from committing arson? No problemo! I'm NOT the kind of player that tries to be everything at once and overwhelms the table, but i can bring in just the right vibe to keep a campaign going smoothly. What Class would you plan on playing?: Based on what you're looking for, I have a nature cleric in the works that could be good fun! i might plan on using a 'homebrew race' but if im a good fit i'd love to talk about it with the DM! Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) I am a lady! Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?: Yasha Yasha Yasha!!!!! with Vex and Caleb tied for second
Greetings and Salutations Fellow Adventurers! I do so valiantly Try to get my players to participate alas to no avail. I do enjoy D'Ming, but that is only a result of not having a Dungeon Master to call my own! I would love to participate in a group who communicates and scheduled play times are even better. Immersing myself in the game is the most important thing to me, and to play my character as I would wish to be represented.
- What is your experience with D&D? - I have been Playing D&D for 4 years now, I played 3.5, 5E, and D20 modern and D20 future. I would say over %65 of all the games I have played I was the DM, and would really like to have a reliable enough party to reach AT LEAST LVL 5.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? - I own a nice microphone and I can run all three of those at the same time. - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) - I'm always down to play when I'm not working and hasn't been too much of that lately. - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) -Leveling up and seeing how different characters play at higher levels. honestly can't say iv'e really had many puzzles, maybe one, but It could be something I enjoy!
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group? - My group just does not seem that interested in playing. What do you bring to the (virtual) table? - I can do different voices and I fiddle around with making maps for Roll 20, I can help with keeping track of some numbers if needed, and I can do some below par editing on photographs to make one appear to be a tiefling instead of a human, for instance. What Class would you plan on playing? - I would plan on playing a Warlock. Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) - I am in fact a Gentleman Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character? - That's the one with giant battle mat right? I don't know their names.
First questions are some basic ones; - What is your experience with D&D?
I have been a player and a dm in the past, but it's been a few years since I've actually played and I'm trying to get back into it.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
Yes, I do, to all questions!
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Yes, I am, my schedule is very flexible.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
A mix, whatever the story leads us to really.
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group?
I really want to get back into d&d and this group sounds serious about enjoying the game and playing their characters.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
I love to rp the character (though I’ll ease into it as I learn more about the group) and I’m a well-mannered player. I don’t metagame, I don’t try to min max, I don’t hog the spotlight, my biggest concern is everyone enjoying the game.
What Class would you plan on playing?
From what you said you need an extra healer or a tank, so I would plan on being either a Paladin or one of the other off-healers like celestial warlock, divine soul sorcerer, etc.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
Gentleman of 22
Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
How can you pick just one favorite when they’re all so awesome? Caleb, Nott, Fjord, and Jester All occupy first place for me but I would say Jester is slightly more in first place.
Haello!! I'm Ryn, pronounced like chin but... with an "r"... great start. I'm a 24 year old ummm person (non-binary) from the PNW, specifically Washington, looking for a group to call home. I miss playing sososososo much and have been searching for a group/ game but nothing has stuck unfortunately. A bit about me, I'm a HUGE shy dork but will absolutely come out of my shell when the feeling is right. I love animals and the outdoors and tend to find myself being a goblin in the forest most of the time collecting plants, rocks, shiny things, animal parts, trash... you know the type :P I'm a loud introvert, I love to laugh and bond with people, music is the reason I'm even semi sane, and my two best companions are my cats. Big into movies, music, games, puzzles, books, anything to keep me busy!!
My play style, I love teamwork and back and forth character interaction almost as much as I love the story telling aspect of playing. I get super into any of my characters with ease and will always try my best to become exactly who they would be and live life through their eyes, I also do voices hehe. I dive deep into my characters, flaws and all, doing research and sometimes even journaling just to keep them cohesive and realistic. A grindy game is my favorite way to play, I love exploring, video/ tabletop games and irl alike, so pLEASE let me sniff every corner of every broom closet in every room. I will find ALL the secrets with the sheer stubborn persistence of a swarm of angy bees. But I will never stray too far from the pack if they don't want to be as anal as I am lol. Teamwork makes the dreamwork! I'm a big fan of never splitting up the party (learned my lesson once) and will devote my character to their party, for their own betterment and for the team as a whole. I have struggled in the past with letting others shine, I tend to get left behind a bit when it comes to having big moments and have in turn felt excluded because everybody else got their story line played out and I was just kind of there for the action sequences, but I am learning how to stand up for myself and address issues when I feel left out! I work really well with communication and openness and honesty and am not afraid to have asides with people if i have questions, meta-gaming concerns, blah blah. That all being said, I do have strong ideas for my characters and I know not all of my choices will fit perfectly with any and every party, and I'm ok with that! I've been stuck with filling in gaps in party character types before and I don't like just being the healer or just being the tank, but I will try to mold as best as I can to the needs presented!
Now I'll answer your questions :)
- What is your experience with D&D?
I have been playing seriously for about a year, running through dungeons, fighting big bads, solving puzzles with party members, building and creating worlds and people, almost on a nightly basis up until Covid hit back in March. Overall I've had a great experience, although I haven't been playing for long, I have enjoyed what I've learned and participated in for sure! I've only played, never DM'd, but I'm always down to learn how to!
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
I do! And I have Discord, DnDBeyond (obviously :P), and can figure out Roll20 with help, easily!
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Open weekends baybeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
Oh Melora, I want that sense of teamwork, getting to explore the fantastical adventures that are just so much better and more fulfilling than real life, getting to fight fantastical creatures and monsters, solving puzzles, exploring distant lands, storytelling, ALL of it!!
Time to talk about myself more?...
Why do you want to join our group?
Y'all sound like the perfect sized party, and seem so organized and willing to communicate, ugh... what a dream
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
ummmmmmmmmmmm, humor, memes, love, acceptance, kindness, critical thinking and problem solving, shall I go on ;)
What Class would you plan on playing?
hrngh..... soup jk aaaaaa I would like to discuss with the party what the parameters and limits are, class and race wise, and what they would like to recruit into their world first, but I wouldn't mind adding a Barbarian, Ranger, or Paladin to the mix
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
would y'all be mad if I said neither? I am non-binary (they/them) and don't refer to myself as any specific gender :) I won't be offended if how I identify isn't what you personally subscribe to, all I ask for is respect and understanding!
Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Can I cheat and say I've never listened to CritRoll (but Beau is p cool from what research I've done) and actually prefer NADDPod? And if the answer is yes, Hardwon is my fav from NADDPod.
I look forward to conversing with y'all and mayhaps potentially joining your crew!!!!!
Well hallo, I'm Rebecca, from the southern US (please don't hold it against me -- my city's main industry is rocket science, so we have that going for us). 24, she/her. I've been mildly obsessing over DnD since my state locked down in March. Which has included discovering and then binge watching Critical Role, reading several source books for the fun of it, starting one group (sadly, it fell apart quickly) and participating in another. I've played off-and-on since just before 5e came out, but the last few months have been kind of... different.
- What is your experience with D&D?
Played since just before 5e came out (as mentioned above), have some experience DM'ing but I vastly prefer being a player. The longest campaign I was part of was when my high school friend group met after our freshman year of college and we spent the entire summer running a homebrewed round-robin campaign with way too many mindflayers.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
It isn't the world's best mic, but it does work. I don't have experience with Discord, but I could learn it. I'm currently in another campaign that uses DnD Beyond and Roll20.
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
As far as I know. That could change, depending on how my job plans on scheduling me going forward, but I have no way of predicting that.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
I like a mix of everything, but I adore character-heavy moments. Combat is great, well designed puzzles are also great, but roleplay moments are what I play for.
Why do you want to join our group?
I'd like to make some new friends! Y'all sound like you work well together and that sounds like a potentially fun dynamic.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
I'm a generally pretty chill person. I also bring a bizarrely broad collection of random facts about everything from obscure constellation lore to WW1 poets to math to roman emperors. I don't know if there's generally much call for a person who has very broad but very shallow knowledge, but that person is me.
What Class would you plan on playing?
Either cleric or sorcerer. I've wanted to make a favored soul sorcerer for a while, but cleric is my favorite class.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
I'm not much of a lady, but I did dance the part when I had to take a dance class when I was fourteen. I think it was some kind of southern thing, where you learn dancing and table manners.
Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Sprinkle. I 100% named my cat after that poor weasel. I considered naming her Frumpkin, since I generally like Caleb a bit more than Jester, but my cat is not dignified enough to be a Frumpkin.
Hello lovely strangers, stranger fellows! What great candidates you all are! I'm one of the members of the group, I play the Eladrin Druid, Summer, nice to meet ya! Now we had one slot in mind but I will see what I can do to make this perhaps two! Use a little charisma on our dm ;) But don't get your hopes up too much! My charisma isn't the greatest! But I'm sure with a goodberry cake I might just pull this off! I did roll and got a 17 so we will see! I'm looking forward to any others who are interested! Just keep the post coming! As long as it is open everyone is free to apply!
- What is your experience with D&D? -- Sadly very little but I'm trying to fix that . I've played some one shots but never a whole campaign - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? -- Yup - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)-- I'm gonna be a college student so i should be pretty free on weekends - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)-- In my other one shots i really got into RP as a CN rogue so I want to create more situations that create good memories
Now tell us a little about yourself;-- 18 soon to be in college Why do you want to join our group?-- I really want to get deeper into DnD What do you bring to the (virtual) table?- very much a go with the flow but wants to win want some random trivia? i got it What Class would you plan on playing?-- was thinking a goliath paladin who saw god and the tribe threw him out Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)-- Gentleman Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character? -- Sadly never listened to it but I'm just getting into DnD so I'll pick it up
Hey Kagochi, Thank you for making this post, I have been playing in a close friends came on a as and when basis but sadly we've not been able to scratch the itch as much recently than in the past. I decided today to try and look for an online group however I would have to admit I am not completely familiar with Roll20 sadly only having used it for roughly 5-6 hours total. Would something like that be a hindrance? As for your questions, here goes!
First questions are some basic ones; - What is your experience with D&D?
I have very little experience outside of a friends group, only picking up D&D about a year or so ago I have tried joining online groups before however there tends to be a lot of drop outs early on which almost certainly killed every single campaign. Currently I have only played 1 module and am part of a on-going friends homebrew campaign using module characters.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
I can run all three yes, I currently use a Blue Yeti microphone. I have very limited experience with Roll20 however I do know that I can run it.
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
I am currently unemployed due to current worldly circumstances, I do have a loving wife and child which take up most of my time however I am usually always free around the times you've posted.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
Ideally I would love to see a healthy mix of all three, I am not particularly weighted in either one however if I were forced I would say Puzzles(Even though I am terrible at them aha)
Now tell us a little about yourself; - Why do you want to join our group?
I have started looking for a group that is seemingly solid as a structure and doesn't appear to be falling apart anytime soon, sadly my close friends group is very much a here and there basis right now with no real structure(We've only managed to play once in 3 weeks). I've currently been playing as a Rogue / Warlock however I would like to explore more of the magical side of D&D including either a druid or cleric however I am learning more towards a Cleric as I have been watching a ton of Critical Role and have been inspired by Talisan and the Cleric that he plays.
I have only even played as a Physical type of character(Barbarian and Rogues) and would much like to explore how spells, cantrips and components work in a different sitting. To my understanding in my close friends game we don't worry about the components side of spells however that is something I would like to further explore :)
- What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
I would hope that I would bring a fresh in-look into the D&D space, I wont sit here and pretend to be the funniest person because I am not nor the most knowledgeable. I am just me, a Dad and a husband that would like to find a group of people comfortable with themselves who just want to have fun with some dice once a week.
What Class would you plan on playing?
I would love to play some kind of spell weaving user, I typically always play a 'support'-esk role in 99% of the games I play, I tend to get a sense of enjoyment out of empowering other people to do greater things. I have no idea if this is even possible in the D&D Universe as I know alot of different classes have many different elements to them, like the haste spell that I think Wizards have?
Off the top of my head I would say Cleric or Druid however if there is a type of spell user that focuses primarily on empowering others, that's more than likely the class I would play.
- Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
I am a Gentleman, a loving farther and Husband to my beautiful wife.
Bonus question: - Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
There are to many to make this choice easily, perhaps I could break it down and list multiple? Failing that if I were forced to one and only one, it would be Caleb the character themselves are so complicated and weaving into different directions I find their choices interesting almost every time.
(If I were allowed to break it into multiple characters, in a top three scenario)
For pure character development, Caleb
The pulling of heart strings, Caduceus Clay
For comedic value, Pumat - I feel in love with this character the first time Matt had voiced them.
------
Thank you again for making your post, should I not be pulled to one side and a second convocation had I hope you find the person you're looking for and I wish you all luck in the future encounters.
I've both played as a characterand as a DM for different one-shots - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
Yep x3. May need a pointer or two on roll20. Haven't toyed around with that as much yet. - Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Yep. I'm on the west coast finishing school. This would be dope
-What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
I guess RP, playing the game, and a fun time with people. Quarantine has been rough my guys
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group?
I'd like to learn more about the game and meet some new people What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
Vatsu, an air genasi pyro What Class would you plan on playing?
Nature cleric with a propensity for controlled forest fires Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
Gentleman Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
My name is Isaac and I'm the sorcerer of the campaign. All of your posts are wonderful and we honestly did not expect this many responses. What this means is now we will be conducting interviews just to see if we're a match; it'll give us a better opportunity to figure out who you are as a person. We will be asking you a series of questions similar to the ones posted above (Not exactly those questions, I know that gets annoying...). While it is important that your character matches what we need, we want to ensure we're playing with a future friend. Our DND group has become like a family to me and I'd love to have another member included.
Reach out to me on discord at Shamoomoo#1569, we'll set up a time for this interview, and we can have a chat about your character and the person behind the screen. :)
Thank you all so much for your time and we look forward to playing with you.
My name is Michelle, I've been playing for I think 5 years now? Started with 3.5 but switched to 5e and never looked back.
I have a very good quality mic, and all the necessary accounts.
I have a free schedule, so playing sat or sun will be no issue.
I enjoy character interaction and exploring stories most of all in dnd games. I try to give each of my characters a major flaw, issue, or stance on something that i think would be interesting to try to play through and explore.
I am one of those rare people that actively enjoy DMing but would like to play a bit more as a player. I also love to keep combat interesting by not just shooting things with arrows but using all the different actions - shove, grapple, using surrounding objects instead of weapons, the little known help action in combat. Im big on helping others do awesome stuff and making interesting combo moves.
Im interested in meeting new people and making new friends and it sounds like you all have not only formed a dnd group but a friend group. Im also just a tad bit obsessed with this game and want to play more than just once a week X]
I would like to bring in my boi Took. He is a gnoll ranger. His play style is to shoot em hard and fast, keep their attention on him and jump in to tank before anyone else gets hurt. He has a bit of an anti hero personality, wanting to make up for past deeds.
Critical Role member - Travis. He is so happy and go with the flow. Always tries to make the best of the situation he is given.
Critical role character - Nott/Veth. I love how she expresses their flaws but always keeps the mood light.
BONUS ANSWER. A question that keeps popping up in games ive run or been in is how do your character's deal with a child that is either evil or a monstrosity, particularly after you kill their family.
Took would kill the child unless he felt that there was someone that could adequately teach them right from wrong, and show them love and respect. He would not want them to grow up vengeful, or hated by the public. He wouldnt enjoy killing the child, but he would do it out of respect for their sanity.
Hiya! I know that you wanted an 18 year old preferably so that's why i wont waste your time telling you that I am a 17 year old boy. If you dont want me thats cool but if you are interested in what I have to say, do read on :)
My name is Maximus (Discord is NikCaged#4334)
First questions are some basic ones; - What is your experience with D&D? I have played in numerous campaigns (5 I believe) and have been playing with my club at school but due to quarantine cant really play :p. Tried DMing but that... didnt work out. Mostly I like to play as a tank so that should fit nicely with what you need except that this will also be my first to RPing as a character. - Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? I Have a working Macbook that can run all 3 programs but since im relativly new to online D&D i might need to learn about Roll 20 -Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) I am a highschool student who doesn't really have work so the times should work out. - What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) Im looking most forward to the combat and puzzles as I think playing and trying to figure out that kinda stuff is fun.
Now tell us a little about yourself; Why do you want to join our group? I really want to play D&D and you guys and gals seem like a fun bunch to roll with. I also kinda want to branch out and try and meet new people even during quarantine. What do you bring to the (virtual) table? I would like to say that i bring dumbarsery and lots of humor a 17 year old boy would normally have. I also try to be lighthearted during my campaigns and try to be nice and polite when I am not a naked barbarian screaming hail merry What Class would you plan on playing? I would plan on playing a Bugbear Barbarian Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) I am a humanoid of the male gender
Questions of my own:
What Level would we be starting at and how would y'all handle me if I got to be butt? Because if you tell me to calm it down that would work
Morning blessings to you all! So far we are amazed by all your wonderful replies and as Isaac mentioned it sure exceeded our expectations! Together with the DM and the group we have been going through each of your posts and have started little followup interviews. These interviews are taken by Isaac and the DM to get to know you a little better. Make sure to contact Isaac's discord Shamoomoo#1569 , to plan the follow up interview.
That said we still welcome any new readers to reply to this post! Again as mentioned it isn't a first come first serve! We are looking for someone who isn't just going to be a player but also has the potential to become a dear friend too. We did discussed with the DM and the possibility to have another extra player is highly possible. So if you weren't sure if you are in time yet? Don't worry about it! We will keep the post open, at least for this weekend so if you are late to the party you can still apply! Make sure to reply to our post with the questions given by Kagochi and send Isaac a message on Discord for the interview.
We are looking forward to seeing any new replies and the follow-up interviews.
I'd start off with saying I'm an aspiring voice actor, but that'd just be an outright lie. I'm more of a amateur roleplayer with a voice that only sounds good half the time but dreams about voice acting. I like to be straightforward so, i'll start off by saying I'm a little more reserved at first with my character's decisions, actions, argumentativeness, etc while getting a feel for a new groups overall style, both as players and as people. I always want everyone to have the best experience possible so I prefer to hold off on getting fully into character so I don't work against the groups goals (in ways that aren't fun) or develop/express character traits or something that might annoy someone (ex: some people might think a character that is very outspoken about how (in their mind) they're better than everyone is funny or creates good conflict while others may end up internally let out a pained "uughhhh this again...")
- What is your experience with D&D? It's been about 5 years since I've last played D&D, but I'd say I have light to moderate experience. I've played numerous one-shots (with friends and with strangers at a bar on "boardgame nights". I played in 5e campaign for about 1-2 years as well as a Pathfinder campaign for about 6 months with a group of close friends.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? I use a custom built gaming PC so running Discord, D&D beyond, and Roll20 wont be an issue, I'm not super familiar with roll20 but it's something I've needed to check out anyway. I have a fair quality microphone, I'm using a Blue Yeti with Voicemeeter.
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) Honestly, I'm more of a "nightowl" but have no issue making it on Saturdays or Sundays as long as it's planned a day ahead.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) In general any or all 3, can't beat a good variety. Mostly I think it depends on the current or upcoming situations (build up towards an important meeting might make me lean more towards the RP while rising tension in dialogue or planning/preparing in anticipation of trouble would make me look forward to the battle.
Why do you want to join our group? Reading through the original post everything I read seemed to check off all the boxes of everything I'm looking for, a group of people serious about all aspects D&D has to offer but not serious to the point of "requiring absolute perfection". The focus on roleplay and being in character while still equally enjoying dungeon crawling, puzzles, and battle. The fact that the group is more about flawed "realisitic" character instead of making the best character is one of the biggest aspects that draws me in.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table? Truthfully, only time could fully tell? As the player, my goal and focus is almost always the other players and DM. I have a handful of various vague character concepts I've thought of but I don't have a set class or playstyle that I need/want to play, I'd rather wait and hear what everyone else in the group is playing (or work together to an extent) then build a character foundation based on what would compliment the group the most then work with the DM to learn the lore they're using/creating and campaign concept to build a backstory and personality the blends organically with their world vision or building a character that's branched from another players backstory if it would help empower or drive the story they're wanting to tell with their character, whether it's a companion to that character or even someone that would really butt-heads with them (I'm not against playing the bad guy if drives a good narrative). To somewhat explain how much I love the "flawed characters over min-max" idea, when I'm making a character the skills, abilities, spells, that I select are for the "Characters life before the campaign": Dwarven Sorcerer that uses his powers to make smithing easier? He's casting Dancing Lights for those late nights putting the final details into a blade, screw getting worn out pumping a bellows all day, study that "Gust" cantrip, no more wasted time on simple jobs like repairing broken chains or locks when you've got mending.
What Class would you plan on playing? Like mentioned above, if possible I'd prefer to discuss it a bit to know for sure so I can try to create someone that will compliment and benefit the group (not just in combat, but in roleplay and general personality as well), but just going off of the information I have I'm thinking Tank: Fighter or Barbarian. Healer: Cleric. BOTH?!: Paladin
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) I am a 28 year old Gentlemans
Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character? Is it bad that this is probably the hardest question on here answer? Each character is amazing in their own unique creative way but I'd have to say (from the party members) I'm torn between Yasha, Nott, & Fjord. all for different reasons.
As for any questions I have? Here's a few random questions I thought might be interesting
In terms of roleplaying, what would you say your favorite personality or personality traits to play are? (and why, of course).
What type of conversational type conflict do you have the most fun with, if any? (ie. arguing with a player/npc about how the handled something, reoccurring character that puts your character down but there's nothing you can do about it... yet, stuff like that I guess)
Who's your favorite comedian (Stand-up, online entertainer, whatever type) or what your favorite style of humor?
I'm currently in a group running curse of strahd, w(is late evening on Sunday so it will not clash as long as the time is still 1pm est) and before the whole covid-19 quarantine happened I was in a homebrew campaign that had 4 sessions.
Yes to the mic, discord, roll20, and dnd beyond.
I am available at the time mentioned
I enjoy it all equally but still need to work on talking using my character and not just myself.
Something about myself hmm, well I'm female 30 years old. I enjoy videogames, reading, and food.
I want to join your group because from what you described it as it seems close, warm and friendly. So honestly I'd like to get to know you.
What do I bring to the table hmm I feel like I'm pretty good at picking up story beats also I don't mean to be chaotic but it just happens, occasionally...
I'd like to play a fighter, paladin, wizard, or rogue I'm open to suggestions. I like making characters ok lol
I'm a lady as mentioned above.
-sweats- I keep meaning to start watching critical role but it's intimidating! It's a lot to catch up on. From clips I've seen it's probably jester.
I've been playing a long term campaign with a close knit group of friends since February 2020. I play a Drow Druid and we've gotten to level 5, almost 6. We played through Lost Mines of Phandelver and our DM is now running homebrew content. I've also done a couple of one-offs.
Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
I actually help lead a discord server, Rivia Gaming, so I'm very familiar. Our group plays through Roll 20, so also very familiar there. DnD Beyond, I've used less but it's been a great resource and I'm sure I could learn anything I needed to.
Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Yes, I'm in EST and am available during the days both Saturday and Sunday.
What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
I'm up for a mix, but I really would love to role play more. There are some people in our current party who don't really care for it and it kind of makes me feel guilty for trying to spread my wings and RP rather than jumping from one encounter to the next. There's no depth there and I barely know anything about my fellow party members and we're level 5..
About me: Why do you want to join our group?
I'd like to play more, frankly. D&D is a wonderful experience. From the posts you guys have made, you sound like a very mature and engaged group and I would love to be a part of that!
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
I'm mature (29 years old), very reliable, very punctual, put a lot of thought into my characters' backstories, and I know how to play my classes (for the most part) on day 1.
What Class would you plan on playing?
If the DM would allow it, I think I would multiclass, starting with a level 1 fighter for great weapon proficiency and then switch into wizard after that to be a sort of battle mage. I tried it in a one-off and I loved it and want to play it much more. She was a Zariel Tiefling, focused on abjuration magic.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
I am a lady, 29 years old.
Bonus question: Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
I've been watching Campaign 2 recently. They've given me SO MANY amazing role playing ideas and so much inspiration. I haven't gotten very far into the campaign yet, but I'd have to say my favorite character in their party is probably Nott. I love how she isn't perfect and is a total clepto and just hilarious. She is very additive to the rest of the party, especially with Caleb.
Additionally, I did send a Discord Friend Request to Shamoomoo today. My username there is Rucin - you should see the same "R" logo in my profile pictures. Hope to hear from you all soon! Thank you in advance for taking it seriously and asking such thoughtful questions. It's like doing a cultural interview for a job and workplaces that have done that with me have been my favorite places to work!
[NOT LOOKING ANYMORE!!! PEOPLE WHO REPLIED CAN STILL CHECK THO XP]
Greetings fellow adventurers,
We, a group of 4 (3 players and a DM), are looking for a fourth player to join our weekly online sessions.
- Time Saturday EU CEST starts around 18:00-19:00 or EST/EDT GMT-5/GMT-4 which would be around 12:00-13:00
- Each sessions runs for roughly 3 hours.
- Sometimes Sunday (depends if someone has to work early) so keep that in mind.
While the group started with another player, unfortunately we had to part ways due to the interests for the game of said player not being aligned with that of the group.
Our party consists of the following;
An Eladrin Druid, Human Sorcerer (ex-bard), Half-Drow Rogue, played by the players, the DM plays along as a Kobold Monk, which has been unanimously accepted by the group.
(Don’t worry, you don’t have to do any voices but if you can, great!)
- Enjoy dungeon crawling (we want to discover every room!)
- Flawed character over min maxing
- A player who is at least 18 years old, (we have mixed ages and want to be able to discuss adult stuff without having to worry too much about age. That said we don’t drive on romance or horny bards, if the moment allows it, sure, but it isn’t our main focus)
- Someone who understands there is no ‘I’ in ‘Team’ and exploring & combat is a team effort, if an opportunity arises for someone to shine we allow that player their moment.
First questions are some basic ones;
- What is your experience with D&D?
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group?
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
What Class would you plan on playing?
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Keep in mind we will put you on trial for the first sessions so when things don’t work out, no harm no foul! The most important thing is that everyone enjoys their time! But as mentioned we are looking for that extra member to complete our group. We only have a seat for 1 player in mind so we will be picky, but if there are two of you, I say dazzle and amaze us and maybe the dm will allow another extra player ;)
We look forward to seeing who will be joining our next adventure and possibly become part of the group.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
howdy! i would be very interested, depending on how you plan on running the game, I personally would love to find a group that allows me to RP. I ah... dont know how to go about this, im much better when you talk to me so i suppose i will start with your questions:
- What is your experience with D&D? - I have been Playing D&D for 10 years now, I played 3.5, AD&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulu, Mutants and masterminds, and all that
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? - YES! infact I would preffer to run it like this
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) - Most likely, i am unreligous and have a very open schedule
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) -Role playing, able to act as my character, play my character, and interact and create dynamics with the party while working with them while also not being useless in combat. based on what you guys Have in the party I will likely shoot for a Barbarian of some sort (I havent played Barbarian in 5e yet and I'm curious about it)
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group? - Honestly, im bored and have nothing better to do, i have fallen out with my IRL group because they all have jobs and lives, and I have been unable to play games with them and their Schedules
What do you bring to the (virtual) table? -I wouldnt consider myself be be bringing anything unique to the table other than my own personality, devotion to learn and play with others
What Class would you plan on playing? -based on what you have: a Barbarian. however i normally play mage types so this will be a first for me, I might also Play a Paladin or a Cleric.... Probably a Cleric... yes i will likely be a cleric depending on what i brew up if accepted.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) - I am a Dude, of the Bro category
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
My discord is Bronze#7608 btw
Hey! i am interested in joining your group! i recently ended a longtime campaign with a few friends of mine so ive been looking for something new to join!
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed): i have no issues with that! its probably better that i play on the weekends anyway
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix): I really enjoy doing RP, being a character and experiencing the world as they do is a part of the fun! and dont get me started on puzzles man i LOVE PUZZLES
Why do you want to join our group?: Well first of all, i'd like to makes some new dnd friends! but also, my last big campaign just ended and i still have the itch to create stories and make some crazy memories!!
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?: Yasha Yasha Yasha!!!!! with Vex and Caleb tied for second
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group? - My group just does not seem that interested in playing.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table? - I can do different voices and I fiddle around with making maps for Roll 20, I can help with keeping track of some numbers if needed, and I can do some below par editing on photographs to make one appear to be a tiefling instead of a human, for instance.
What Class would you plan on playing? - I would plan on playing a Warlock.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) - I am in fact a Gentleman
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character? - That's the one with giant battle mat right? I don't know their names.
First questions are some basic ones;
- What is your experience with D&D?
I have been a player and a dm in the past, but it's been a few years since I've actually played and I'm trying to get back into it.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
Yes, I do, to all questions!
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Yes, I am, my schedule is very flexible.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
A mix, whatever the story leads us to really.
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group?
Gentleman of 22
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
How can you pick just one favorite when they’re all so awesome? Caleb, Nott, Fjord, and Jester All occupy first place for me but I would say Jester is slightly more in first place.
Hello if you are still looking I would be happy to join.
- What is your experience with D&D?
I have been playing for just over a year now. I am on my second full campaign and have played in a number of one shots.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
I can easily run more than that and I have a yeti mic so my sound is good.
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)
Saturdays for sure. Sunday availability changes from time to time.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)
60-70%rp 30-40%combat exploration and puzzles are the middle ground between the two.
Why do you want to join our group?
Mostly because it seems well organized. That is always a good sign.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
Sarcasm. Lots and Lots of Sarcasm. Also I am very even keeled. Thick skin. My skin is puts rhinos to shame.
I am slowly improving my role playing. I have lots of non angsty character ideas. Almost no edge. Like a dull knife.
What Class would you plan on playing?
Fighter (echo-knight or battle master)
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
Gent, 22
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
I am a filthy heathen and have never watched an episode. I have never listened to any D&D podcast. I know I am a monster.
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Now have a splendid day and stay safe!
Summer¬
- What is your experience with D&D? -- Sadly very little but I'm trying to fix that . I've played some one shots but never a whole campaign
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? -- Yup
- Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed)-- I'm gonna be a college student so i should be pretty free on weekends
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix)-- In my other one shots i really got into RP as a CN rogue so I want to create more situations that create good memories
Now tell us a little about yourself;-- 18 soon to be in college
Why do you want to join our group?-- I really want to get deeper into DnD
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?- very much a go with the flow but wants to win want some random trivia? i got it
What Class would you plan on playing?-- was thinking a goliath paladin who saw god and the tribe threw him out
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)-- Gentleman
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character? -- Sadly never listened to it but I'm just getting into DnD so I'll pick it up
Hey Kagochi,
Thank you for making this post, I have been playing in a close friends came on a as and when basis but sadly we've not been able to scratch the itch as much recently than in the past. I decided today to try and look for an online group however I would have to admit I am not completely familiar with Roll20 sadly only having used it for roughly 5-6 hours total. Would something like that be a hindrance? As for your questions, here goes!
First questions are some basic ones;
- What is your experience with D&D?
Now tell us a little about yourself;
- Why do you want to join our group?
Bonus question:
- Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
- What is your experience with D&D?
I've both played as a characterand as a DM for different one-shots
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20?
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group?
I'd like to learn more about the game and meet some new people
What do you bring to the (virtual) table?
Vatsu, an air genasi pyro
What Class would you plan on playing?
Nature cleric with a propensity for controlled forest fires
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen)
Gentleman
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
Sprinkle the Weasel
Good morning, everyone!
Isaac
Wanted to sneak my name into the mix real quick
First questions are some basic ones;
- What is your experience with D&D? I have played in numerous campaigns (5 I believe) and have been playing with my club at school but due to quarantine cant really play :p. Tried DMing but that... didnt work out. Mostly I like to play as a tank so that should fit nicely with what you need except that this will also be my first to RPing as a character.
- Do you have a working mic and are able to run Discord, DnD beyond and Roll 20? I Have a working Macbook that can run all 3 programs but since im relativly new to online D&D i might need to learn about Roll 20
-Are you available on a weekly basis at the given time on Saturday (and maybe Sunday when needed) I am a highschool student who doesn't really have work so the times should work out.
- What are you looking forward to the most in a session? (RP, combat, puzzles, mix) Im looking most forward to the combat and puzzles as I think playing and trying to figure out that kinda stuff is fun.
Now tell us a little about yourself;
Why do you want to join our group? I really want to play D&D and you guys and gals seem like a fun bunch to roll with. I also kinda want to branch out and try and meet new people even during quarantine.
What do you bring to the (virtual) table? I would like to say that i bring dumbarsery and lots of humor a 17 year old boy would normally have. I also try to be lighthearted during my campaigns and try to be nice and polite when I am not a naked barbarian screaming hail merry
What Class would you plan on playing? I would plan on playing a Bugbear Barbarian
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman? (We currently have 2 lovely ladies and 2 gentlemen) I am a humanoid of the male gender
Questions of my own:
What Level would we be starting at and how would y'all handle me if I got to be butt? Because if you tell me to calm it down that would work
Cant wait to hear your response ^v^ - Birb boi
Razzle, Dazzle and Amaze us! And have fun!
Thank you all for your replies and patience.
Stay safe and healthy!
Summer¬
Well hey, howdy, hola and more!
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
My experience with d&d is, quite simply not much.
Thanks for the consideration :)
What is your experience with D&D?
About me:
Why do you want to join our group?
Bonus question:
Who is your favourite Critical Role character?
