Hello everyone! I'm Josh, the Dungeon Master for Friendly Sasquatch, and I wanted to come here to spread the word about my games. I'm an experienced DM that's been wanting to play more and hopefully keep funding my tabletop rpg hobbies. With everyone social distancing, I thought now was a good a time as any to offer my services to people as a digital dungeon master and bring some joy to gloomy times. I love giving people the chance to tell a collaborative story, and I thrive in the general chaos that inevitably leads to.
This is a paid service; there is a flat per-player/per-session fee to compensate the time and energy writing and running the games takes. I will always try to list my prices as clearly as possible on whatever pages I post them on, and there are no hidden costs; the only requirement is that the fee is payed before the session starts. Most of the time, it is $20 per-player for one-shots and $25 per-player/session for campaigns. I try to host these games using free tools like roll20, to keep players costs to a minimum and keep it accessible. I do have access to tools like Fantasy Grounds as well, and would love an excuse to actually use it.
I can run just about anything revolving around D&D, and I'm happy to pick up new editions if there's a demand for it. I've got a handful of custom one-shots on hand (and constantly writing more), as well as a couple of campaigns depending on what players are looking for. As far as themes go, I'm happy to be versatile with groups that can communicate what they're looking for.
You can check out the facebook page or you can look at my GM page on startplaying.games to keep up with the one shots that I post for the public to join(Links below).
Here are the speednotes:
What kinds of games and systems do I focus on:
Friendly Sasquatch is mostly focused on D&D games, and primarily 5th edition. That said, I'm familiar with 3.5e and a handful of other systems depending on what players are interested in. The games are offered in a digital format.
The themes vary widely, and I'm always writing new one-shots and campaigns. That said, I like to err towards the fantastic and strange parts of fantasy, putting players in new situations. I'm currently still in the process of digitizing many of my one-shots, so my catalogue is far more robust than it appears.
The Chime of the Ruins (One-shot): A strange chime is erasing more and more memories every time it rings. To stop it, players must make it through the ruins near town before the chime rings again and erases their memory!
The Masters of Tiny Chaos! (One-Shot): You always knew your were meant for greater things than being a henchperson in a dungeon, and now's your chance to prove it! Can you and your coworkers manage to pull off this heist? Sneak into a city, steal a relic, ???, Profit!
Into the Ashlands (One-Shot): a short adventure in heroism to save a town from flaming beasts! Can you find the source of these unnatural attacks before the town is nothing but ashes? A Humblewood themed one-shot, with ready made characters available!
Players and groups can book me either through the Facebook page or through startplaying.games(Links at the bottom) for custom one-shot, modules, and campaigns, even if they aren't directly listed. Please note that requests for specific modules or official material may take a little additional time for me to familiarize myself with.
The age ranges Friendly Sasquatch is suitable for:
13+ based on general content and D&D's own rating. Content can be adjusted for different age groups, but only with full consent of the playing group and advance notice.
Any particular rules the community adheres to:
Official terms and conditions are in the works outside of the general rules of Friendly Sasquatch:
Be kind to each other, it's a cooperative game
No explicit content/actions. I will fade-to-black if necessary, and remove players that continually push this.
As a paid service, minors should only play with the consent/presence of a parent/guardian.
The usual time zone of your community and its primary language.
I exist in the Eastern Standard Timezone in the United States, but sleep is a myth and I'm happy to run games at differing hours depending on demand. English is the primary language that I speak.
Feel free to message me on either page or respond here with any questions you might have!
If anyone has the time, I'd love to get your feedback on some things! Below is a Google Forms link that just has some quick questions about some basic demographics and experience with TTRPGs.
Long story short, I want to make sure that what I'm offering isn't based on assumptions, and that what I'm putting out there is what people want.
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to see you in-game soon!
