The year is 030 Post Metasis. The Shattered Planes of Sephritair are in the early dawn of a new era, as the long-suffering lands of the living celebrate their definitive victory over the God of Undeath.
Connected and protected by the new All-Planes Conglomerate, the diverse nations of the five shattered material planes find themselves amid a bustling rebirth. New nations arise! New technologies take to the skies! New peoples, and new mysteries abound! An uncertain future awaits, rife with possibility, & danger!
As a new dawn lights on the seventh of Strive, a new horizon of adventure and discovery unfurls for an unsuspecting swath of would-be adventurers. Your adventure starts here!
The Campaigns!-
Shattered Planes campaigns are paid, long-term ongoing campaigns set in a single, unified homebrew setting designed to provide optimal immersion, a sense of inclusion, and a gentle lore-learning curve. Though Sephritair is run as a living world, the heart of each campaign is the players, their stories, and choices, and how they relate to the greater events of this epic setting. Mechanics-wise, all groups play weekly and are run using a basic 5e ruleset with a few minor house-rules added to make the experience more welcoming to newer players. DM does character accents & voices! Leveling is benchmark. Sessions run three to four hours. All parties max/lock at 6 committed players! Cost is $14 per player per game payable via Kofi. More specific details about logistics are available upon request.
Campaign One- Campaign One has just concluded after TWO EPIC YEARS of beautiful story. In that time my players have slain armies, sacked magic stores, and against all odds- freed the world from the threat of the God of Undeath. Their triumphs and failures are sure to impact the world of Sephritair for decades to come! Yet the story is far from over...
Campaign Two- (STARTING SOON!) The story of campaign two is set 30 yrs after the conclusion of campaign one. While the God of Undeath may be vanquished, the diverse & sprawling planes of Sephritair still hold countless secrets to explore! Who knows what your own story may hold?
The application process for Long Term Campaigns is as follows:
Complete & Submit All Application, Backstory, & Consent Forms Available via THIS LINK!
Arrange & Attend A Casual Voice Interview & Lore Primer With That Bard Via Discord.
Attend Your "Free Trial" Session With Your Intended Party & Have Fun!
Should everything go well, you will know immediately after your trial session if you are accepted as a good fit for the given party. This is a MUTUAL decision.* If you don't feel you will enjoy the group you try out, there's no harm nor foul in bowing out!
About The DM!-
Hi there! Name's September. I'll be your story-pilot for this evening. Buckle up! We're in for a nerdy ride!
Seriously though- I am a 40-something creative writer, critter, & avid roleplay enthusiast. My DM experience began a bit unconventionally, as I gleaned most of my chops running persistent story arcs for large groups of players (30-100) in a variety of MMORPGs over the course of ~15 yrs. I have however switched over to tabletop, and am LOVING it, as it enables a much more personal, and immersive story. I've been running table campaigns now for nearly two & a half years! Oh, & I am also an artist & graphic designer. All your home-drawn maps are-belong to me. :)
Rates/Disclaimer-
These games will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $14 per player, per session, via Ko-Fi. The first "trial-run" game is always free. DnDBeyond is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
Why Paid?-
A girl's gotta caffeinate! But more seriously, doing these campaigns as paid games lets me focus exclusively on delivering immersive and beautiful, personalized tales to my players. It also helps cover costs for reference materials & expenses (I have content-share for the legendary bundle on DnDBeyond and more!), as well as covers extensive prep time & labor making art!
This rate includes for you: - one reliable 3 to 4hr game session weekly, a free character art token crafted by one of our resident player-artists, access to the game's lore as it grows, as well as access to a thriving, small and friendly discord community of your fellow adventurers. AND! I am constantly seeking ways to improve & give my players even more, as time and resources allow!
All told, I do my very best to make every session worth every penny. And I never ask for payment for our first "trial run." Roleplay is personal, and I strongly believe it's essential to ensure we are a good fit for each other before committing to a regular long term game.
That said, I hope to hear from you! & I look forward to helping you craft -your- story.
As a long time player in this group (seriously, 2+ years!) I could sing September's praises all day and all night. Campaign 1 was phenomenal, and easily the best and most fulfilling TTRPG experience I've ever had, and I've been playing since the late '90s. There was drama, there was adventure, there was romance, intrigue, and a healthy helping of whimsy. And if the groundwork laid in the C1 epilogue is any indication, this new campaign promises to bring that same level of enjoyment all over again with a whole new adventure!
As for the people you'll be playing with, September's community is hands down the best group of gamers I've had the pleasure to play with. We're a super diverse group of people who lift each other up, and I cherish these nerds like none other. And September herself captains this ship with grace, compassion, and an understanding of different people's playstyles that gives everyone something to look forward to each week.
I’m currently considered a retired player in September’s discord family as personal, real life things caused me to leave before C1 was finished. But for the months that I did get to play it was probably the best DnD group I had tried, hands down, period.
And if you’re newer to DnD and think this wouldn’t work for you or it’s too advanced, I had only attempted to be part of 2 DnD groups prior to joining and had been told that as a woman, I shouldn’t play. So not only was September and the rest of the table willing to help teach me but they also are wonderfully accepting. And it’s not just her DnD games she offers, but a true community, a kinda-family with all it’s diversities and individualities (but that’s optional too, you don’t have to engage with the discord outside of games but it’s there if you want it)!
So if you like immersive storytelling, the freedom to be creative both in creation of your characters and in-game, roleplaying galore (but also the ability to NOT be super roleplay actor-worthy with no pressure to have to be), and a world created to be discovered (seriously, her maps are gorgeous and her worlds are great fun to explore), on top of a community of gamers - this place is for you.
Plus -- what could be more socially-distanced then an online regular DnD game with a great community and a DM that is fantabulous during these fun pandemic times, amirite?
I've only been in this group since April, but these people and September especially have made me feel at home and welcome. I came from a group of people who would start DnD sessions, only to suddenly stop playing a few weeks later. Having regular sessions has sparked so much joy for me, and being able to have that closure with my party's and my characters was wonderful. I have made so many amazing friends because of this campaign! If you want a nice balance of story and combat, an amazing DM, and a fully-fledged, living world full of amazing characters, this is the campaign for you. If you are new and afraid, this is the perfect campaign for you! If you are older and experienced, this is also the perfect campaign for you! Our campaigns are diverse and have players with all sorts of experience levels. I am also a super introvert along with having several comorbid mental illnesses, and playing with these folks on the regular has helped quell my fear of socialization and helped my mood immensely! If you are shy or introverted, this is also a campaign for you. This community is amazing and I have never met a more supportive group of folks. This is the cool kids' table, but also, like, everyone is welcome. <3
I'll pitch in too with my endorsement as a 18-month member. I've had the opportunity to experience "ThatBardThere" and her DM skills from three different groups. Here's why I love her games:
1) She varies her style to fit the party. Each of her groups creates the dynamic that works for them and the DM adapts and accommodates. But she's still the DM and guides all her groups in the mutual story building that is D&D.
2) The campaign world contains multiple groups. Each is run independently, but with lasting impacts on the entire world. What does that mean? Occasionally there will be cross-over content due to actions of one group affecting the situation of another. ((Look...when we cleared out the enemy base and set our traps in their transport system we couldn't have known that other group would stumble in a few days later. And you may want to recruit an investigator Rogue for your party. What happened to you isn't our fault!)).
3) The DM is invested in your character as a critical part of her world. And what you do with your character will leave a mark, possibly a legendary one, over the course of a multi-year campaign. Your backstory can be more than just beginning character color.
4) The Discord community is a full on community. It's like a continuously running Convention, both In-Character forums and OOC exchanges of thoughts, gripes and fun stuff.
Come join the fun for this new beginning and start building your story now!
I can say I consider myself a veteran now, as it will be 2 years since I joined this amazing group of people in a few months. This group has been perhaps the most consistent one I've had through my entire time playing D&D. The world is vast and it's shared between parties, which makes it so that whatever you do in your group could be seen in another group, or NPCs you meet in your group could have made part of a storyline for another group. And your actions have lasting consequences in the world, you're not here just as a spectator, you're here as a fundamental tool to shape the world as it will become.
September is a story-teller, first and foremost. She brings forth interesting characters, compelling storylines. If you want a game where all you will do is hack-and-slash and just count numbers and do damage, this isn't the game for you. But if you want to be a part of a game where your character will be alive, part of a story, where you will build your character as a true living piece of a living world, where your backstory WILL COUNT, and with a balance of storytelling and combat, this is totally the game for you.
And if you are into living a character's life in an amazing world, this is DEFINITELY the game for you!
I love all you guys!!! Seriously I am blessed to have such amazing players. So happy loved!
New detail- To prospective players- do please note: if a party is marked as tentatively full- that means the applicant for this spot is already awaiting the last stageof application, and the seat is highly unlikely to re- open. Unfortunately I operate on a first-come first-serve basis, however I am always happy to keep promising players on a waiting list should a seat become open down the line!
Still ample seats in prime slots for those East Coast players, on early Monday's & Friday's! 3pm PST/ 6pm EST start times! Still one week away from Campaign Two's first session ZERO'S! So excited to take a new set of players from 1 to 20 as we start another long, beautiful journey in Sephritair.
