I have some experience with D&D but tow of my friends are kind of new to it all and because I have some experience they wanted me to try out being DM. I would love to try but with classes going on and work I lack the time necessary to read, write, and learn all of the lore and info for the adventure we want to do. The adventure is "Frozen Sick" and I purchased the "Explorer's Guide to Wildemount" for more information but, other than getting the chance to read through a few pages of text, I feel I can't provide a good first experience for these guys. So if you can and are available, especially with everything going on in the world today, I would greatly appreciate someone who can make my friends and I's first adventure together memorable as well as a step toward us wanting to play more adventures and campaigns in the future!
I know that I may be available but I would have to check with the other two. When I know for sure I will message you and sorry for the delayed response time, I didn't think I'd get a reply this soon after posting.
I've briefly read this adventure (which every player can read, thus spoiling the surprise) then discovered the Wildemount world. So, the success of your project depends on:
- did you read the adventure?
- how well do you know Wildemount world?
- How keen on being surprised are you?
I do voice on Google Meet. I do contact and text chat on Discord. The map could be done on Roll20 but it'd require some work on my part. I'm not familiar with dndbeyond resources, so I don't know yet how it could work for providing the best performance.
I read through a bit of the adventure just to get an idea of the plot line and just as of the last 2 days reading through the Wildemount world from the explorer's guide, mainly just about the islands and town we would start in. I can speak for the other 2 and say that surprises are very welcome as the more encounters, puzzles, battles, and etc. we experience the easier it will be to really become true D&D players in the future. If you need any of the dndnbeyond resources I can see if I can download and share them with you for better ease with gathering information, and if you wouldn't mind putting in the work I would greatly admire you taking on such a task (I felt a little overwhelmed just after a glance at that site). Also, for all the trouble you are going through for me and my group whatever you can come up for us I'm sure will be a great performance even if you don't think it turns out the best. My high standards in my original request was just to see if any one would answer the call, my true standards for any one would really be just to make the adventure fun because that is all I do and ever will expect from my future with D&D.
Sorry to sound like a wishy-washy ass,
Sjaframar Soirdonis
P.S.- I f you want at the end of all this see some cash for all of your efforts I know that I and surely the other party members would chip in to give me a reward as fine as we are able to!
I'm still undecided. Chance of failure is higher. Money is not my motivation. It is a long shot. I'm willing to give a try. We should chit chat, only with text for starting.
