Game: D&D 5e - A Haunted House Adventure one-shot Group type: Online (Discord and Roll 20) Experience: Newer DM (I've put a lot of work into this adventure; been run quite successfully) Location/Timezone: US Eastern Schedule: LFP for Saturday, September 19, at 6:30 Eastern. (I will run this several times between now and Halloween) Roles sought: 3 spots left for Sept. 19. If you're interested in future games, let me know.
A dying land. A mysterious house. An unknown curse. This is a spooky adventure riffing off of live-experience haunted houses. I was inspired by the likely absence of many live Halloween events.
Across the river from Freeport lies The Passing Lands, a slowly spreading area of infertility and vile creatures. Locals believe The Passing Lands to be cursed by a house that, on All Hallow's Eve, hums with mystical energy. Those who dare to enter the house will need to unlock its secrets in order to lift the curse and save the land.
What to Expect This haunted house one-shot adventure features a variety of challenges, including puzzles and combat. (The adventure will begin, climax, and end within the approximately 5 hour session.) The atmosphere will be spooky rather than horrifying. More Ghostbusters than House of a Thousand Corpses.
Players will attend session 0.5s with the DM at a time separate from the one-shot or at least 45 minute before the one-shot. Multiple PCs are encouraged to attend session 0.5 together, so we may connect party members through background. During this session, we will ensure your character is complete, review backstory, and add a few buffs. Each PC will also need to identify a phobia and arch-enemy or rival. Except for session 0.5's immediately preceding the game, PC(s) also will play a brief game session (15-30m, included in total session time above) to tie your PC into the adventure, so the actual game session will hit the ground running.
I am a newer DM, so source material is limited to the PHB. Newer players are welcome, but we cannot accommodate brand new players for this one-shot.
EDIT: Closed for today, but will keep folks in mind for future games.
im down to join this. i know it is a late application but i am well versed in the character creation process. i currently have 30+ characters in my backlog on here so I can easily take one, reroll the stats, and retheme it to fit into the setting.
