Where to start hmm.. Are you relatively new to D&D? Are you really interested in an on-going, consistent game where your roleplaying opportunities have a fluid effect upon the world? Do want to learn more about how to play! Well lads and lasses, you've clicked on the right thread!
The Land of Akesia is a fairly normal homebrew continent for DnD 5e. I do follow most of the 5e Rules as written (RAW), but don't mind some accommodations to help bring characters to life. Haven't found the right background to fit your character idea? I can help you make one that fits the world. I've had a few adventures played within the lands so this is not an untested environment. I tend to Dm by building things as I go. I prepare things based on where I expect the game to proceed, although sometimes surprises are great. While I do use theater of the mind, I do try to incorporate in maps from Inkarnate, and music/visuals to enhance the game experience. The game does tend to focus of the roleplaying elements more than bloody battles and should be viewed as an introductory game/pace.
Currently the game has been focused around a rather small village of Whispy. It's set near a large lake, forests, and mountains. There are larger kingdoms and empires, cities and places to go, but most of it is far off. This leg of the adventure had been meant to explore facets of the Feywild. If you don't know what that is, its fine. Whispy has a lot to offer even though its rather small and quaint.
So game details -
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online - You need DnD Beyond obviously, and messenger (We might move to discord). Eventually we may get involved in Roll20 for more enhanced combat. Experience: I'm a moderately skilled Dm. The game is geared for armature players. Mature content is possible but not a focus of the game. English speakers only please. Location/Timezone: starting 7 or 8pm PST Saturday Evenings. Thats western United States. One of my consistent players is in Australia so there it would be 1pm (sunday). International is fine as long as I can understand you well. Schedule: Session lasting 3 to 4 hours bi-weekly. Occassionally we may have to reschedule or shorten a game but i try to plan ahead. Roles sought: Built in DnDbeyond. I can tailor an adventure around what you decide to play. The likelihood is once we have some people signed on We will do a session Zero to work on building characters together. Restrictions will be discussed in game zero.
Fee free to ask questions or send me direct messages. I put in about 15 hours a week working on building things for the world so I'm online here frequently.
(Edit) - Figured I might include a link to the map of the town if you want something to whet your appetite.
This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm defiantly in playing. i haven't played in many years actually just started DMing this week introducing my wife and her friends to the game. So I've pretty much gone headfirst back into the game.
I'm fairly new to 5e, have some experience with past editions and have been looking for a game to get back into D&D. I would be quite interested in joining your game if able.
I don’t have much experience in playing DnD but I have been interested for quite awhile and this sounds like a great opportunity for me! I’m somewhat sure I have the rules and such down with some help needed here and there, I’ve also messed around and have couple of character ideas lying about.
Just a question though: Do you have a certain age and up you want in this group? I’m fairly young myself and I don’t know if you want this within a certain age group.
I really like the Whispy map! Would love to join the group if there's still space. I'm fairly new to D&D - played twice so far and just created a new character on DnD Beyond (not finalized yet). This sounds like a great opportunity and a lot of fun, especially because of the focus on roleplaying.
Hi, im really interested to join, especialy because im new in this and i really want to learn. I dont have time constrains so if i can join, it would be an honor. All i have is my character made through this site, but im willing to do whatecer necessary.
@Fishfinn - Generally 13 and up. But mostly im just looking for consistent players.
@Rinadart - Oops sorry I'll add that to the game info. Saturday Evenings roughly to begin 7 to 8 pm sometime.
Since we already have 6 replies, I will message you directly with my Discord Tag. If we can make it work i'd like to do session Zero for character creation tomorrow evening (mean today, sunday since its already after midnight)
PM sent - I am interested in checking out your interesting homebrew content, and have some ideas for characters. I am somewhat familiar with 5e, but could use some polishing and gameplay to understand it a little better.
Hail and well met my fellow DnDbeyond members.
