Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New to 5e (familiar with 3.5) Location/Timezone: Eastern Standard Schedule: Flexible (Self-employed, work from home) Roles sought: Player Game style: Roleplay, casual, character-driven.
I was hesitant to add my listing here because I'm maybe asking too much, but I would really like to try this out. Long story short, I have severe social anxiety which I'm hoping to slowly battle back by interacting more with people. I've written and edited for a number of years and have played D&D in the past when I wasn't such a wreck, but I don't currently have a mic on my computer and would much, much prefer to play via keyboard anyway. I'm a very fast typist but also realize this may be a deal breaker for some folks, but even if I did invest in a headset, I don't think I'd have the nerve to speak even in character.
I'd still like to play despite my issues, and be assured I wouldn't be writing whole paragraphs to describe what my character is doing to slow down the session. I know how important flow is to games and am a pretty quick study when it comes to online helper programs like roll20 or Tabletop Simulator.
I'm not the type to min-max or be overly concerned with 'optimizing my character'. I'm just looking to have a bit of fun with some new people in a game I haven't played in years and tend to create 'quirky' characters, but not in the annoying 'I'm going to force people to pay attention to my character's eccentrics and slow down the game' way, just quirky enough that they are hopefully fun to mess with.
Also, it's probably best if I'm NOT in a party with any evil PC's. It may be 'boring' but I prefer to play D&D in the 'traditional' sense where the players are heroic and, you know, adventure, rather than hoard everything and build a giant vault to go swimming in an ocean of GP like Scrooge McDuck or go angst in a corner because I'm not wearing enough black and blood red.

I've been toying with the idea of playing a centaur. Unorthodox, I know, but it just seems like a lot of fun RP possibilities. If you're not into that though, I also have a basic human sorceress I can play.
