Read through it if you would, but a small recap: Looking for a player of any experience to join Curse of Strahd by the 7th of November (Saturday). Race and Class can be whatever, as long as it isn't too complicated or monster-like (send and check it over with me). Don't be a dick, we're all nice and chill and looking for a fun time. Aim to run every Saturday 7pm-9pm+, and to go for 6~9 months campaign. Setting is Gothic horror, focusing on Mystery and Tension, with decently serious role-play.
Game: D&D 5e - Curse of Strahd (Just about to start)
Programs used: Online - Discord for Voice-chat, Roll20 Map. [Discord: D.HeartWood#0657] - You'll need to use both of these, so have an account.
Experience: About a year of home-brew experience, though this is my first module. - As for a player, I'd prefer some experience (the basics), but if you're fine to learn quick; new people are fine. Note - Players are all around 18+, and would be best for you to be ~18+ too.
Location/Time zone: UK, GMT, English. - Most players are out the UK, but English is necessary. Note - Running the game 7pm-9pm GMT, just in case.
Availability: So far, we are running the game every Saturday 7pm to 9pm, sometimes going over a bit. When a player can't make it I tend to cancel, so please ensure you’re available.
Preferred role: No worries on what you want to be, restrictions below, but I tend to allow nearly everything as long as you can explain its reason to be used. Though I ask you don't pick any complex home-brew races or classes - It'd be a lot for both of us to manage.
Restrictions: Environment will be Gothic horror, focusing on the feeling of Mystery mixed with some tension and creepy stuff; so keep that in mind. Class restrictions: Anything like Artificer and technology using classes as they don't fit the setting much. Race restrictions: Any kind of monster class (Skeleton), and usually not semi-monster races (Minotaur, Kobolt); This is due to the world being filled with scary monsters and such, I feel if a character is semi-monster that your immersion and feeling of tension would be diminished due to your character not exactly being surprised by a zombie. Though I am open to semi-monster races if you can explain how you'd play them well enough (we do have a Dullahan). Homebrew is allowed, just please don't use complex or complicated ones; I don't want to learn a difficult class or race, or have to wait for you to take a turn due to having to manage so much.
Current Party: Got 4 players (2 girls, 2 boys; in case anyone has an issue), Still finalising characters, but looking like: Cardomancer (H.B), Paladin, Cleric and Druid.
Game style: I'm open to almost anything and I love flexibility and creativity, though as I'm running a module I aim to be more strict on stuff - but if it can be explained to me well enough I'm happy to bend rules to make it work out. My usual style is to make stuff happy and fun, and while I'll still make it fun, Curse of Strahd is a serious gothic horror setting that I'll be building tension for - so please make sure that you'd enjoy playing in that setting and can be serious. There'll be fun times as well, kinda like 80% serious mystery, 20% funny stuff. Additionally, we all haven't done serious stuff before (previous campaign wasn't serious, killed a lich by breakdancing as an example), so if you're into 100% very serious role-play we may not be the right group for you. Low ball your expectations a bit at first in terms of serious role-play.
Toleration: I'm cool with everyone as long as you're not a dick, so be chill and everything will be good. No discrimination trash, like racism or sexism, if there is ever a display of inappropriate behaviour it'll be an immediate kick. We're all here to have fun, so I won't let anyone mess that up. If when joined you ever have an issue with anything, please message me and I can help sort it out - Goal is for me to make a fun: chill environment for everyone, so if there's an issue just tell me (including if I'm the problem)
Additional notes:
I need a player for Friday 6th of November, as we're starting on the 7th Saturday. All characters are starting at level 1 and will be going through a starting mission to go up to level 3. So I'd just need a character planned for level 1-3 by Saturday; backstory and details can be expanded on after the first session if/when needed. I don't do hand-holding, but I can help make the character fit the setting better if you're struggling or unsure.
Message me on here or Discord [Discord: D.HeartWood#0657]. Again, looking for 1 person, and it'd help if you knew basic DnD rules. After contacting, I'll be asking a few basic questions to see if you’d fit the group and how you like to play, then just some general chatting.
