Game: D&D 5e Group type: Face-to-face Experience: New / a few years / veteran Location/Timezone: Houston, TX near Memorial Park Schedule: Every other Friday or Saturday evening from 7pm to 11pm Central Roles sought: 4-5 players Game style: A good mix of combat, role playing and exploration/intrigue
I am currently gauging interest for an in-person campaign in Houston TX. I have been a DM since the late 70s and play more of an old school, theater of the mind style with a good mix of combat, role playing and exploration/intrigue. I've been conducting several campaigns online lately, but am now considering dipping my toes back into in-person gaming. I live in a high-rise apartment and have access to a private dining room near the lobby where we can gather to play.
The campaign I have in mind would be based in Waterdeep and start out at 1st level. I'd likely base the early part of the campaign on the events in Waterdeep Dragon Heist and go from there into a more open world adventure as the characters move past level five or so. I am not married to this approach and would be open to designing an alternative based on group preferences.
If you think you would be interested, I'd like to know a little about you and your gaming preferences. Make sure to mention your experience level and preferred playing style. If I see enough interest, we can start talking about scheduling a session to get together. For everyone's safety and comfort, I will ask that you are vaccinated or recovered from Covid within the last 12 months so that we can gather without wearing masks around the table.
Hey Oldmadmage, I'm an oldmadplayer. I have been playing since early 80s, started with blue box, so not quite as old. I moved back to Houston last year and am now looking for a steady face to face group in my area. Did you game come together after all?
