I currently have a mostly in-person campaign with some friends and am looking for a second game to get my fix. It's my first time playing a game with strangers so sorry if my post here is doing something wrong. I am a mostly casual DM that is happy so long as everyone is having fun. Ideally, I am looking for players that get their fun out of staying in character. I am easy to get along with and prefer people who are also easy to get along with. I don't have the most experience (I have about 40 sessions, of the same campaign, as DM under my belt), so I'm happy with both experienced (teach me your wisdom) and new (we can learn together) players. The setting would be my own and the game would be in a sandbox style. Would be looking to play in the afternoons or evenings (eastern standard times), but we can work out a time that works best for everyone. Looking for 4-6 players. If you're interested please message me with some information about yourself. Eagerly await your messages.
I don't mind new players at all and think I'm pretty patient. Do you have any experience with other ttrpgs or are you new to the hobby entirely? D&D isn't all that complex so you should be able to catch on pretty quick.
Good attitude. I don't mind new players and, as I mentioned above, I consider myself pretty patient so don't worry about taking your time to learn so long as you put in effort I'm sure you can learn. It's not as difficult as it seems at the start.
Yeah, for anyone curious I am going to give something of an explanation of the campaign here. I am willing to answer questions, but obviously I don't want to give too much away. Just know that the style of the game is going to be somewhat sandbox-y so if you are wondering "well can I do this?" The answer is usually "well how can you make it happen?" Just keep in mind that D&D is as much an exercise in group storytelling as it is a game, so expect to role play. As for what the actual game will consist of, I have been building a setting since the beginning of summer as I've been playing with my other group consisting of some good friends (and my brother) and plan on using that setting again, but separate from the area that the other party is mostly playing in. The kingdom the plot is set in is the tropical land of Reila, which views magic as tools of the hells and imprisons all but a few licensed magic users. So if you want to play some sort of magic user then expect that to factor into role play. Currently Reila is experiencing a period of exponential growth, a venerable golden age. There is a booming slavery markets of gnomes and dwarfs, (some halflings but they don't make for good slaves in the eyes of the rich), so if you play any of those races expect that to factor into roleplay. I am expecting to start at level one and work up from there, but if there is any serious problem people have with that there are easy adjustments that can be made to to bring the level up if you want to start at something higher. I plan to talk over what kind of characters you would be interested in playing so I can work in your backstories in some way. I hope I gave some sort of idea of what to expect for new and experienced alike. If I missed anything crucial just ask, I'll answer anything that I can.
I Played with my friends as a teen and some in college. circa 1985. I probably have the original DMG PG MM etc. I have a ton of old Dungeon and Dragon magazines from that time as well. I'm just trying to meet cool people who want to get lost in their imaginations. Example. My main character Melot, after he became a lord, hired assassins to get his do gooder wife out of the picture. (In fairness he changed after they fell in love while . . .) And he tried to get his daughter off Euphoria Dragon breath weapon extract (for sale in my campaign think like black lotus) so he could marry her off to get the. . . you get the idea. Our world went places!

Hey, I'm Keith! I was wondering if I could join the campaign, I'm new to DnD, so I'm very sorry if I'm a bit bad at it or slow to catch on.
