Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Text Based (Discord Preferred) Experience: A few years Location/Timezone: Eastern Time Zone Availability: Evenings and Weekends Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual, something that focuses on a sword and sorcery / adventure setting with a balanced mix of combat and roleplaying.
Hey all! I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and describe what I'm offering and what I'm looking for beyond the initial information posted above. I'm a relatively new player (4 years) with limited DM experience that's looking for a diverse group to play a text based game with. I prefer to play over Discord as I can take it on the go or fire it up on my laptop, and would like to find a fluid setting where each player posts as they can (to be clear, as an example; the DM posts, then Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, back to the DM, so on). I'd love to be involved with a well-rounded group of players from new to veteran who can teach me new stuff! Diversity of players, roles, and races would be great.
So on that note...I am pretty vanilla myself. I'm offering up Dabbert Hahft, a Level 1 Variant Human Fighter. I've not had a chance to play something vanilla yet so I wanted to give it a try. Currently I believe my character would best fit with a newer group so that he isn't too far behind to catch up (as well as getting constantly beat down by high level enemies he can't handle...).
I'm really inspired by stories like Kings of the Wyld and Bloody Rose as well as the Conan series, but love adding whimsical / magical elements reminiscent of The Last Unicorn, Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, or Legend. Humor is good. Serious is good. The focus should be to have fun and tell a good story.
Saying that, the key word from my first paragraph here is casual. Everyone has lives, so I don't want to be part of something that's over structured and demanding of my time. I'll post as often as I can, but I can't be on every day, as most of you can't. I also need a group that doesn't follow the letter of every rule. I want to stick to the core content and the rules as much as possible, but if we have to stray for some reason or someone has a boo-boo it doesn't need to be the end of the world as we know it.
If you're interested in getting a group together, being the DM, or inviting me into an existing group you can reply here or contact me on Discord at J.F. Capps#7996.
