I am an inactive player interested in roleplay, combat tactics, exploration, story telling, and the wonderfully nerdy but focused comradery of D&D 5e.
I will play one-shots, short, long campaigns, I will play spellcasters, half-casters, pure martial or skill based characters, optimized and unoptimized characters, whatever seems fun and appropriate given the group's needs. Ideally, I would find a group of people to play with long term and, if it's not too forward, to form friendships with as, together, we adventure through the wilds of imagination...
Suddenly, the mass of text upon the laptop screen began to blur. The words of the once rigid, black and white sentences leaped and whirled, infinitives were split, tenses were contorted and the Oxford comma was left utterly neglected. Peering into this linguistic calamity I noted that, perhaps, the meaning existed beyond the words and, peeling back the final layer of reality from the laptop's screen, I beheld a bright light, leaping gold at first then, broken into a prismatic beam of sparkling, dancing lights. Falling forward, I found myself falling downwards into an unknown world, watched as griffons flew in pairs above the clouds where a sinister spire of black metal pierced the rose-gold glow of the celestial heights. The cold, sweet, exhilarating roar of the air through which I plunged rushed through my hair , roared over my ears, roaring like the armored dragons that flew in squadrons near me as I fell, fighting with one another in fearsome battle of raging fire, bitter frost, crackling lighting, and booming thunder, wrestling with one another as so many storms within the storming clouds.
With a freezing glance, a silver dragon uttered an oath and arrested my fall so I merely floated downwards dreamily, seeing the far off peaks of distant mountains, the bends, curves, and meandering pathways of the rivers which joined great cities, and abundant farm lands below, rivers finding their ends in the closely packed trees of dark forests, or in low, swampy, unsettled country with an unfavored look. Suddenly, over a low barn deep in the rural heartland of this world, the dragon-enchantment wore off. I crashed through the barn's thatched roof into a fragrant pile of hay piled high for threshing, much to the surprise and excitement of the cows and chickens. A tabby-colored cat gazed at me coolly from the rafters and then, in a single, graceful movement, leaped to the floor and stood up in the shape of a grave, gray-haired, wizened fellow no taller than a human child, with bright, perceptive eyes. In clear, somber, nearly sorrowful tones he at last said only, "I was warned this day would come."
Hiya. I’m an experienced DM and storyteller and I’m looking for a few players to round out my group. I love teaching new players! The campaign is every Wednesday and the most important qualities I look for in a player are consistency (can you attend on time every week?) and ability to get along with others (I have 5 other players, all very nice, each very different from the others). It is a compensated game, $10/ week. Let me know if this sounds like a fit for you! Thanks,
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Not as yet; let's see who else posts here. I do not have the materials (DM guide etc.) necessarily to DM, and would much prefer to play, at least to start, but I am not opposed to being the DM necessarily, if no one can be found. Let's stay in touch :)
Hi Danielle. Thanks for reaching out! Wednesday is not an ideal day for me, though it could potentially work. The key, as you say, is consistency, and so unless I can pretty confidently guarantee regular (and engaged) attendance, I would not want to just jump in. What time Wednesdays, please? I am in an odd time zone, which may work for or against us, depending on schedule.
I am not philosophically opposed to an entrance cost; I have a good idea how much work DMing is, having looked at trying to do it myself, and so some compensation is certainly fair. So no immediate yes to the offer, but let's stay in touch. I would love to have a conversation about it sometime. If it works out, I have a good mike and camera set-up with a microsoft surface pro 7.
Rounding out the group: what classes/roles is the group missing?
I have thought a lot about it. I can be a stern but kindly old soldier type (probably a dwarf or human paladin), or a callow, cocky, quick-thinking adolescent elf (wizard), or a tough, charming, feckless mess of a halfling wild magic user (sorcerer), or one of two wood elf brothers I rather like, a Shadow monk and a Light cleric... I have some other ideas as well, but less "optimal", for example a half-orc paladin 2/bard x ax wielding enthusiast of heavy metal weapons and heavy metal music, with a personal quest to introduce the larger world to the too often neglected treasures of orcish high culture. So much to say, if it happens, I will find a niche that I enjoy and that gels with everyone else, and would do my best to contribute.
Id love to play with you. I am new to online play but not at all new to D and D...I played enthusiastically in the 80s when it first came out. Now I am searching for a great group of players to join in online adventures. I love role playing. Contact me by emailing LandisLL@gmail.com or LandisLL#1352 on discord. Discord is new to me so I have a bit to learn there but I think playing D and D should come right back to me. I can play pretty much any time on any day. I am home in quarantine. My schedule is wide open and I can easily play for hours. Hope to hear from you.
Hi, I'm Devin. I am a professional DM running several games. I have a small group about to start a Sunday late night Curse of Strahd campaign this week. This is a Paid game, but that comes with the benefits of quality and consistency on both my part and the part of the players. Check out the game listing on Roll20 and let me know if you're interested!

Personally, as a beginner, I would absolutely love to play with you and form a group or maybe even join yours if you have one!
