*Edit* I'm looking to join as a player. I'm not running a group.
I’m looking to join a game of 5E that starts around 8:30pm/9pm CST and stops no later than midnight. Any day of the week except Thursday.
I’m in my early 30’s and have kids so I can’t start earlier or go later than the times above, or pay severe IRL consequences, haha.
I’m an experienced player and DM. I run a game on Thursday nights. I know how to play and won’t slow anyone down.
I use discord, DNDBeyond, and Roll20. I’ve got a bunch of sourcebooks, happy to share content on DNDBeyond. I’ve played a little bit with Fantasy Grounds as well if that’s the chosen platform.
I come prepared. I know what my character’s stuff does. I appreciate the DM’s time investment and show that by investing my own time to be ready for the game. I’m respectful. I’m looking to have fun and play some DND. I’m looking for a group of like-minded gamers. Not interested in hardcore horror, excessive gore, no sexuality. Looking for a mature and respectful group.I appreciate staying engaged in the game and for that reason I appreciate pace-of-play. Not looking to be the 6th+ player. 4 (maybe 5 in the right group) is about right in my opinion to keep every involved and engaged. Not looking to get my turn in combat every 15 minutes kinda thing. Looking for other players that know how to play and hopefully prepare their turn before it happens and know what their stuff does so they don’t waste everyone’s time by looking it up in combat.Looking for people that share the “spotlight” and make sure everyone is involved and gets their voice heard. People that make at least the bare minimum effort to roleplay (“Give us what we want or else” Good. versus “I want to roll an intimidation check” Bad).
I’m also looking for a DM who takes charge and runs the game and enforces some of this stuff. Keeps the pace up, steers players towards RP’ing instead of players asking for checks/rolls, etc. I’m not actually hardcore or looking for a super serious game necessarily, light-hearted, friendly, and chill is great, but they say No DND is better than Bad DND and I’ve found that to be very true. Left to their own devices, some players can sabotage a game so I appreciate a DM that leads and sets the tone and makes corrections when required.
So that’s what I’m looking for. DM’ing is fun and rewarding but sometimes it’s nice when your “character” you worked on survives more than 3 rounds of combat, haha. Let me know if there’s anything out there that you think would be a good fit.
Edit: I'll also add that I'm willing to run some one-shots or off-shoot adventures as fill-in DM for the group occasionally as well if the DM or the whole team can't make it for some reason.
