I kinda put that title too big... It pretty much says everything I wanted to say. There's a butt load of stuff I don't know about in DnD, so I would appreciate some help.
Everyone was new at one point - don't worry about that. If you can afford it, get the player's handbook and skim through that, else read the "Basic Rules". A good DM can help you learn along the way, and in general there's so many different rules and possibilities that the best way to learn is to just start playing and follow the lead of what other players are doing - you'll be fine.
To pass time in the meantime, I would recommend watching some d&d games on line. It's amazing what you can learn just from watching other people. Acquisitions Inc. is entertaining, and I'm pretty sure one of the guys (Mike) was brand new when they first started. I know he became a D.M. for his own group shortly after. Critical Role is one of the best shows, largely because they are all voice actors and the D.M. (Matt Mercer) is a master of his craft. There are many, many more on YouTube, Twitch, and on the Wizards of the Coast website. Good luck and have fun.

Good luck in your search for a DM!
