Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Veteran with 12 years experience, both as a player and DM. Location/Timezone: Washington state (PST) Schedule: Weekly, actual day and time to be determined depending on player availability. Roles sought: 4 players Game style: A balance of combat, roleplay, and exploration that will be modified depending on player preferences.
Premise:
You are a Scholar, one of ten individuals who hold a highly covetous position at the College of Antiquities, tasked with unearthing pre-Spell Purge artifacts. What sets your College apart from rival organizations is their belief of preservation through documentation, utilizing SIDs (Silent Image Devices) to safely display artifacts without risk of triggering any latent magical properties they may possess. Despite magic having returned to Berimos after nearly seven decades since the Spell Purge, albeit in more sedate forms, the risk of wild magic surges have increased tenfold. Housing a collection of such items in one location could prove disastrous, hence the precautions. And yet competitors and private collectors feel otherwise.
As the mists enveloping the Maw recede, new opportunities arise for nobles and common folk alike. The College of Antiquities believe your skillset would be highly beneficial during a private expedition and have requested that your investigations be kept discreet as not to draw covetous attention. Assess the surrounding area, record your findings, and secure valuable documents for further research. And beware what lies in the mist.
This game is open for players of all experience levels and I'm more than happy to introduce first time players to the fabulous world of Dungeons and Dragons. Keep in mind that this campaign is heavily homebrewed and as such, creature stats may be altered to better fit the setting. So metagaming won't be an option. We'll be using a homebrewed Path system that will replace Classes, the doc of which can be found on the game listing page located in the link provided at the bottom of this post.
We'll be using Roll20 for the game itself and Discord for audio chat. You can find additional information concerning both character creation and rules, as well as the application thread here.
