D&D is awesome, but scheduling is hard. I do have two groups with which I play regularly (one player, one dm) but that just doesn't fulfil my D&D thirst. But between those games and work and other hobbies and life in general, squeezing in another 3-4 hour session on a regular basis is near impossible. So I thought to myself: Hey, a play-by-post campaign that is basically going on 24/7 would be perfect. Just hop in whenever you got some time, write a little something and keep that story moving.
I gave this idea some thought and here are some things that I'm looking for:
Probably should all be in the same/similar timezone so that "active hours" at least mostly overlap (for me that would be GMT+2/CET)
Longer absent times should be communicated, but everybody got a life and that's fine. I could probably check in/post something 3-4 times a day, but some days that just doesn't work
I know there are some West Marches style games out there, but I would prefer a "classic" party of 3-5 members (I think this lends itself better towards more roleplay, backstory stuff and character arcs)
Discord seems an obvious choice, but I'm open for suggestions
So if you are looking for something similar, are running a game I could fit in, or are part of a community where I could find what I'm looking for please let me know. Either here, or just add me on discord Sandcorn #3746
For some additional info a tiny bit about myself: M31, fairly experienced with 5e but by no means a veteran player (playing for about 3 years now). I have never played via text before, so total noob in that regard. I can see myself DMing such a campaign in the future, but I'd like to see how this works and learn the ropes from a players perspective first. I'm pretty chill and do like a good mix of roleplay and combat in my games. No Idea what else is important in this circumstance, so feel free to ask.
