Like many, I found solace and respite in the communication, community, and creativity of D&D in 2020. In hopes that 2021 will bring the same, I am starting a new homebrew campaign. If you are interested in joining please contact me via the Google form below.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord for audio and information sharing, Foundry VTT for battlemaps) Experience: New and veteran players welcome. I have about 5 years of experience as a DM between AD&D and 5e. Location/Timezone: My local time zone is Japan (GMT+9) Schedule: I am looking to play Saturday. I am willing to run a few groups if there is enough interest. Group 1: 9:00 - 12:00 (JST - GMT+9) Group 2: 13:00 - 16:00 (JST - GMT+9)
Start Dates: Jan 9th - Session 0 Jan 16th - Session 1
Roles sought: 4-5 players per group. Adult (18+) only please. Game style: I run a homebrew world that is story-driven and gives players opportunities to explore both their characters and the environment around them. I try to keep things moving and prefer to keep the pace steady. I run the rules as written, but will sometimes make a call during play to keep things moving. When it comes to the three pillars I would say that combat leads, followed closely by social interaction and exploration.
I play a casual game with the intent of having fun, but I try to do it within the framework of the core D&D 5e rules. I am looking for players that are willing to work together, have fun, and be engaged (keep their characters up to date, learn their spells, etc.) I think this is a great opportunity for new players to learn the game as well.
About the Game Diria The Lands of Diria stand divided. The Gods of old, ancient in tradition and ritual, called on their champions to rally belief and renew dedication. The Gods of Diria birthed the world through the power of the four elements, and it is the Gods that rewarded their followers with magic and miracles.
Yet the Gods, in their creation of Diria, created a land of unparalleled natural beauty. The waters run clean, the trees grow tall and straight, and the mountains are full of precious metals. In this beauty, the races of Diria began to put their faith in nature, and nature began to listen. As belief grew, nature’s many spirits revealed secrets that would soon match the blessings of the Gods.
The fragmentation of belief brought conflict, with those believing in the Gods bent on converting the followers of spirits. The Three Decade war split nations, towns, and families. Those caught in the middle were forced to choose a side, if only to survive. Then slowly, Dirians began to understand that the price of belief was not worth the cost of war.
In the years that passed Dirians began to slowly put aside their differences, but some mistrust still remains. Those that believe in the gods and those that follow the spirits work side by side, yet there are still those that refuse to adapt to the new ways. They continue to foster discontent and violence within the nations and people of Diria.
Players - Players will start at level 1 (I prefer this as it allows you to learn your character through the levels.) - The world of Diria is a land in conflict as the Old Gods (that created Diria) are slowly giving way to the forces of Nature. - Fate will decide your starting race, and your beliefs will dictate your class. - There is more information about the world available on Discord.

Thanks for reading... I look forward to hearing from you!
Have had a few more people show interest so we are close to numbers for two potential groups. Hoping to run a Session 0 this Saturday, January 9th to create groups and sort out details
We broke the group up into two groups to manage time zones. The first group is Japan-based and plays from 8-11 Saturday AM (Japan Time). There are currently three players that are very role-play oriented. If you enjoy voicing your character and roleplaying this could be a good fit.
The second group is US-based and plays from 12-15 Saturday PM (Japan Time). They are also 3 sessions in, but the group is a little less role-play focussed (but are getting there). We have 3 in this group, with one more set to join soon.
Let me know if you are still interested and I will send you a Discord Invite.
Sorry, forgot to mention that we use DnD beyond, discord, and Foundry VTT so you would need accounts on all three platforms. Foundry requires a computer I believe.
I'm friends with Togyu. I'm down to play on Saturdays from 0800 and on-ward. I know how to play clerics, rogues, mage's and sorcerer's. Any room for someone like that?
Happy New Year Everyone!
