Introduction: I'm a single player looking for a Friday evening or Saturday online game. I'm currently in a biweekly Sunday group that I've been playing with since I started DnD a few years ago. Just started a new campaign and switched to biweekly. The biweekly thing alone just isn't enough playtime. Also I think it would be nice to meet some new people to play with. Possibly even DM if we hit it off. I'm the type of person who is on time and only misses if there's an emergency. Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 3+ years Location/Timezone: Eastern Time (ET)
Availability: Open from later Friday afternoons/evenings to anytime Saturdays. I'm in another campaign on Sundays biweekly. Preferred role: Player but may DM if I hit it off with people. Age group: Male in my early 30's myself. I don't mind going outside my age range but preferably not with a group younger than their 20's.
Game style I'm looking for: I guess I would say I'm not picky as I enjoy various aspects of DnD. But I wouldn't want to join a group that is purely combat driven. I hate metagaming. Everyone does it to a degree at times but saying "Oooh I know what this is!", or intentionally shouting out "Oh that's a roper!" anytime a DM is describing a monster is annoying as hell. I also hate powergaming. Once again everyone wants to optimize some. It's nice to have cool synergies. But intentionally picking the "most optimized" build to break the character just isn't fun.
My playing style: I've played a variety of characters in all manner of style. Played a lot of the classes and don't have any specific preference overall. Can fill any role. In my last long campaign we split into subgroups due to schedule conflicts for awhile before coming back together for the end. Had about 5 characters since I would just join each subgroup with a different character. Was a bit tricky at the end talking to yourself though with 3 characters in the room.
I do kind of have an affinity for the "oddballs". One of my characters I worked with the DM and I was a Zealot barbarian that was originally a Goliath that was reincarnated into a Locathah. Had to multiclass into shaman just to create water to live. I also do like accents to distinguish characters but try not to go too over the top. Gotta be able to understand someone with an accent. I also kind of hate the antisocial 'edgy' characters.
So yeah.... if there's any interest you can post here, possibly get together on discord one night (work varying hours during the week) and see if it would be a good fit!
