Hello, I'm a 22 M artist and over the entirety of 2020, I've joined several games that break up before session zero comes around. Truth be told, I'm really sick of it :D. ANYWAY, enough venting. Here's some things to know before replying. First off I intend to be a player. Now some other expectations:
Campaign: I'm very used to playing homebrewed settings. And I'm more familiar with the Exandria/Wildemount setting than Faerûn. But specific modules like Tyranny of Dragons, Princes of the Apocalypse, Curse of Strahd, and Ghosts of Saltmarsh, have peaked my interest. Ideal player number is 4-6.
Age: 18+
LGBTQA+ Friendly: An absolute must. No terrible attitudes in general.
Availability: I'm available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10am-4/5 pm PST.
Platform: Discord for voice and maybe video if you're up for it. I'm not one for theatre of mind so I'd like a platform for maps and all that stuff like Roll 20. I've also heard a lot about Foundry and I'm curious.
Characters: Hopefully no strict restrictions in terms of class but I can understand a homebrew world having certain race restrictions. I'm trying to be better at roleplay so players and DMs who are comfortable and encouraging of roleplay, whether good or bad are appreciated. Also not into murder hobos.
Also I am a big fan of Critical Role, as many others are. But I am no voice actor and I'm trying to get better at being a decent role-player. Please don't expect Grade A level acting and expertise from both DM and players. New player or not you're welcome to apply if the terms above apply to you.
Anyways, Thanks for reading and if you feel like there's something special going on here and they also align with your own interests, reply here or DM me and if things go well I'll give you my discord and we can begin to forge something beautiful.
So you're available during 11:30am to 5 pm? That's completely fine too. My availability does not equal what time I want the game to start and end. Pm me and we can talk.
I'm not. Probably should have made that clearer. I usually search for fellow players and group up into a discord server and introduce each other then once we're acquainted and maybe come to a consensus on say, play time for example I start the DM search. Though if someone comes across here and asks to DM I won't complain.
Hey, just passing by, but thought I would offer/ask to be in the loop on your search. I'm kind of curious on multiple angles... One, it's just fun to play D&D, right? Never hurts to keep an eye out for a new game... But more than that, I just get how hard it is sometimes to connect a bunch of folks, and I want to be supportive of newer players who are still looking for a place to 'fit!' I'm not a new player, but I really like talking about characters & RPGs, so more outlets for that is always welcome. :D
Now, the other thing, is that I am DMing a relatively 'young' (session-wise) campaign that's basically 100% first-time players. I wanted to learn the Roll20 DM tools, so offered to run a game if for this group, if they were patient with me learning the ropes on that DM side of things at the same time. :) Anyway, it's nice 'teaching the game,' so to speak, but they're a bit shy about truly roleplaying their characters, so I think it wouldn't hurt to consider adding players that are open to leading-by-example in that area.
Which I guess is my way of saying, I'm happy just to talk D&D player-to-player, but if it helps your search, maybe we can also consider rolling a small number of players into this low-key campaign I've already done a bit of the heavy lifting on. Just a thought! Reach out with a message if you want to chat more.
Hey, I'm pretty new, but I am interested. The only thing is that I'm on the east coast, however I think your times line up with when I'm out of work. If that's good with you then I'd be happy to join.

The times are the only problem. I have school when you are available
Well those times are unfortunately non-negotiable for me as it's my free time schedule before I go back to doing school work.
I can doo from like 1130-1700 but the 1000 is whilst im still in school

Hey guys, I'm looking to join a group just like this!
Are you DM'ing?

Okay dude — I'm new around here so I'm sure it was my misunderstanding. I'd like to be part of that discord server please 🤙

No problem man. Dm me and I'll ask a few more questions and see if we mesh well.
