I travelled without internet access this past week, and was greeted with this prompt whenever I started the app. I purchased the legendary bundle, and am the one sharing it, in campaigns. In earlier versions, I often could not use individual books offline because a download was necessary; now, it seems I cannot use anything at all offline, which defeats the entire purpose of the mobile app. Can you please make it a priority to have purchased content available offline?
This is definitely not intended behavior. Would you mind providing us with some additional information:
Does this occur for every book you have installed or just particular ones?
What device, OS version and app version are you currently using?
Does a banner appear at the bottom of the book stating that it's being shared?
Also, I just want to mention that when there is an update for a book, it does not prevent you from accessing the content (online or offline). When you attempt to go into the book, it will prompt you to update and you can select "Not Now" to access your book.
Thank you for the quick response. I was on a Testflight beta, which may explain part.of it. I don't get to any book; I get a modal alert box, and after dismissing it the app does not get to any selection screen - simply stays at the spinner. (Two minutes was as long as I tried.). Unfortunately, I am on a newer version, so may not be able to reproduce.
iPhone XS Max, running iOS 12.0.1
Was running beta prior to 1.1.10 (have since updated)
Thanks for the info - we're working on reproducing this so we can address the issue.
One more thing I should have asked for, would you mind providing me with the version of the books that you currently have installed? You can find this information by going to My Account and then going to About menu option.
As am I. Using iPad Pro. Pretty mad about it too. I shouldn’t need an internet connection to view paid for and downloaded content. Please update and fix. It’s never done this before.
