My my not so humble opinion.. not totally worthless, but not worth it. TL;DR: It's really not worth the cost, but not every feat is good for every class.
Lets look at the 2 features of Polearm Master.
1st is if you attack with a glaive, halberd, or quarterstaff with the Attack Action then you can Bonus Action attack with the other end for 1d4+STR 1st: You're using the Quarterstaff. Monks aren't proficient with glaive or halberd assume you're using a quarterstaff two handed. This is especially important as a lot of monk abilities require using a Monk Weapon. (Kensai can't use 2 handed weapons, except long bow) 2nd: Monks get a Bonus Action unarmed attack for free as long as they are using a Monk Weapon, and unless your build is unusual your DEX is higher then STR, so the extra attack from Polearm Master is worse then your free unarmed attack The exception to this is if you WIS is really high AND you somehow have Shillegah to make it go off of WIS instead. 3rd: The 1d4 damage die is outpaced in damage die by level 5, so the unarmed attack is automatically better at that point.
2nd While you are wielding a glaive, halberd, pike, or quarterstaff, other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter your reach. This is the only feature of this feat you will ever consistently use. One free attack as a ReAction when an enemy gets within 5' of you. IF you have Mobility and are moving 5' away every round then it might still be useful as you'll get that reaction every round, but I doubt it's worth it.

Is this something that is worth using as a Monk in general, is it something that is only worth using for some subclasses or is it completely useless?
