"Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast Darkness, Darkvision, Pass without Trace, or Silence, without providing material components. Additionally, you gain the Minor Illusion cantrip if you don't already know it."
If I am multiclassed with spellcasting and 2nd level slots through another class can I use these spellcasting slots instead of ki to cast the spells I get through shadow arts?
Sage advice states the shadow arts spells are actual spells (despite the cryptic wording "duplicate the effects of certain spells"). So if these are spells and I know them I should be able to use slots right?
I think you may run into a few problems if you try to do that.
First, Shadow Arts is not Spellcasting as a feature, sure it duplicates spell effects and those are actual spells, but you have no spellcasting ability tied to the Shadow Arts and the feature itself does not include the ability to cast these spells with any spell slots you may have (for instance Fey Touched and Shadow Touched specifically allow you to do this).
Second, even assuming you could use spell slots, you'd need to be of a class that can actually learn this spells (either on their class list or by an expanded spell list), since the Spellcasting feature of other classes state that you can cast [class] spells using your spellcasting ability, and since Shadow Arts mixes spells from artificer, bard, cleric, druid, ranger, sorcerer, warlock and wizard, you'd need to check which one has access to these spells (and none of this classes get access to all 4 spells without an expanded spell list).
