Is there anyway to add spells to the monk. I have a javelin of lightning and want to use lightning bolt spell as second part of the attack. (Using it with avrae if this makes any difference)

You could go to your character sheet and on the Attack tab select Manage Custom to make a custom action as a spell. You put in the values you need and there should be a check box to display as an attack, I think. That might do what you want
