Some of the abilities for Monks who take the Way of the Shadow school specify that they only work in, "When you are in dim light or darkness". How is dim light defined please? Or is that up to the DM's judgement?
Check out the Vision and Light page here on the free compendium within D&D Beyond for all the information on categories of lighting. It's up to the DM to confirm the type of lighting, but these are the guidelines they should typically follow.

Hey Tim,
Check out the Vision and Light page here on the free compendium within D&D Beyond for all the information on categories of lighting. It's up to the DM to confirm the type of lighting, but these are the guidelines they should typically follow.
I hope this helps!
