The classification of monk weapons as any simple melee weapon that lacks the heavy and special properties means that the shadow blade from the shadow blade spell, the psychic blades of the soul knife archetype, the thunder gauntlets of the armorer subclass and the various natural weapons from the path of the beast barbarian are all considered to be monk weapons and will gain the benefits of the martial arts feature, as will likely many more class features that i have forgotten about. Is this ever gonna be useful to anyone? Who knows i mean making an unarmed strike as a bonus action is pretty sweet and may motivate somebody to dip 1 level into monk even if they already got their armor class sorted out just to take advantage of some extra damage potential

Well thunder gauntlets is part of their armor which would negate the martial arts feature from working so I don’t think that would work. But a shadow blade would count so you could get a BA unarmed attack, but it would only be d4. Not sure if a dip in monk would be worth that

"When you use the Attack action with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon on your turn, you can make one unarmed strike as a bonus action"
The martial arts feature does not say that you have to hold your monk weapon nor does it say you must be unarmored to use it, so it should be fair game, also unarmed fighting fighing style, especially useful for an path of the beast barbarian as then you can make two claw attacks and one d8 unarmed strike as an action using extra attack followed by a bonus action unarmed strike, for them i think it could be worth it, for the others it is a bit more uncertain

Your practice of martial arts gives you mastery of combat styles that use unarmed strikes and monk weapons, which are shortswords and any simple melee weapons that don't have the two-handed or heavy property.
You gain the following benefits while you are unarmed or wielding only monk weapons and you aren't wearing armor or wielding a shield.
This is straight out of the book for monks under martial arts. This last sentence on it's own is important. You cannot use anything to do with martial arts while wearing armor or wielding a shield. This means that Artificer Armorer by it's very nature does not work. This is because what I posted applies to all of the bullet points below it including the one that you are referencing.
Also. Dipping into monk for Martial Arts usually isn't really worth it because it is only a D4 at best if you do it that way. If you want to use unexpected weapons with the martial arts then you want to be a monk that Dips out of Monk and into another class to pick them up and that usually means 2 or 3 levels to do so. Otherwise there are just better ways to pick up bonus action attacks.
And with that out of the way. A dip into rogue to get to Soul Knife could be interesting and is one of the exceptions in some ways about dipping. They synergize well together because it leaves the soul knife as never unarmed. the psychic blade fits as a monk weapon. and it's an interesting damage type. And the most obvious issue of things getting in the way of each other is that the second soul knife attack that your allowed doesn't mix with flurry of blows. But it is an interesting bonus action attack to be able to make when your not using flurry of blows or your BA on some other ability. The question becomes a bit more about how much do you mix them? Do you just dip into one class or the other? Do you do some midway combination of levels? how much is too much or too little of each? Since the monks MA die becomes a d6 at level 5. Is it worth it to make sure that you have 5 levels of monk so that you never deal less damage than the soul knife regardless? Or do you consider more to increase the soul knife's damage as well as that of your unarmed strikes...
