 He hurries back to his room, casting disguise self along the way, appearing as a middle aged male dwarf with black hair. Once in his room, he realizes that, how could the half-lion have the dagger as evidence, when he hadn't seen it when he looked, and he was the first person in the room when the murder happened. 

Even though Tel'chan thinks it would be safest to stay in his room, he is just too restless. He leaves, and walks to the deck, still with his illusory disguise. When he gets there, he sees Zalius, and says telepathically, "Zalius. You're just the person I was looking for."

 "I did NOT feel safe around that lion-lady, so I snuck back to my quarters. But I realized that I would probably be safer if I stuck with someone I trust. And that would be you. By the way, I'm the black haired dwarf. It's just an illusion spell."

The thoughts have a hint of amusement beneath them now. Now that we've both found bodies, and we've been here since the beginning, I suppose this makes us prime suspects, eh?

 "Most likely, yes. And I too was wondering where the man with the golden hair went. The more I know about this whole situation, the better. Anyways, if the murderer targets either of us, they'll have to deal with the other as well." Chan pats his bags to reassure himself that his spellbook is still there. 

"I agree. Do you know any other magic besides what you already showed me?"
