So, after ten years, and due do a bit extra from a decision, I am upgrading my 3D printer to a fancy new resin version, and getting a new color laser printer.
my old filament style is so old that I think a fifty dollar new one would do better, lol, and to get decent resolution requires a build size about three times the base 30mm for D&D miniatures.
my old printer is in need of major parts and toner is a pain and doesn’t do wireless.
all of which is to note that soon I will be able to go to heroforge (and titanforge) and create characters that I can print both at mini size and at stand size, so I can send my players all a treat for their characters.
and give those darn XL figures a real what for!
Fun! I have both a filament and a resin printer and, hoo boy, do the resin minis look nice. Easier to paint, too.
It’s on my list of things I would like to get. I love painting and I love the customization of heroforge but I don’t love the pricing! I also would like to get in there and design 3D terrain bc I love big chunky maps
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Well, I can face it; I just don't know if it is worth my time or the trouble of all this memorizing...

Huh, I'm pretty sure in the prior version, or maybe it was just around when the prior version was active, I talked about a homebrew where I was using the Changeling as the basis to adapt a 2e monster race for PCs. The monster race live in a literal mirror dimension they retreated into on account of culture wide xenophobic narcissism, PCs can be sorta of fugitives from that race but are stricken with a sort of amnesia coupled with a identity/personality disorder which usually manifests in them really not being sure who they are and find it incredibly easy to "be" other people.
But I thought the list was cool.

Years ago I made a living creating and selling digital props for Poser and DAZ3D stuff, Not a good living, but I paid the light bill and the rent, etc, so it was a living.
Wings3D is one of many free modeling apps out there (truly free) that are easy to learn and wonderful for doing things like that.
I plan to use it for that terrain bit, lol. I still have poser on my old desktop (and since I mentioned how old my printers are, I will not do so for that handbuilt thing), and I can always snag a base stl using titanforge and model around that once I dust the layers of dust off my skills, lol. It runs and just needs openGl, so works with most laptops.
Titanforge is more geared towards the 3D printing market -- you buy the options and they are yours and then you just download the file or ask the to print it -- but you don't seem to get the cool spinny gif and such you do on heroforge. Two different approaches. Titanforge is Desktop Hero redone to be more competitive with heroforge, I think.
between all of that, I should be able to get pretty close to ideal with a lot of stuff, and once I am more confident in my monster modeling I can start doing some custom miniatures. And, hell, maybe I will do my own images for my stuff, lol, if I do boot up the old desktop. Pretty sure I have three or four different versions of Poser on that, lol.

Question: What are some good Homebrew rules you guys have that I can use.
*Ik probably been asked like 50 times.*
*takes a deep breath*
nah, I am heading to bed tonight, lol. But I will return tomorrow.
note: I am righteously accused of walls of text, lol. I am also one of those older ladies who has been playing a long time and who has no problem changing any rule in the game that is inconvenient.
better to ask more specific questions or I will just ramble on and on.
sorta like right now.

==========================
His green hands interlocked behind his head as he leaned back in his chair, his large, toothy half-orc grin showing signs of sarcasm, “Are you sure you should be doing this? You’re a King after all.”
IAmSposta laughed, “You worry too much my friend. I was a King in the Fey Realm – but here, in what you mortals call the Prime Material Plane – I am just like you.”
“First,” Sirtawmis, his half-orc friend commented, “we don’t call it the ‘Prime Material Plane.’ You fancy pants Fey people do. We just call it ‘home.’ Secondly,” his half-orc gaze sized IAmSposta up and down. “You’re nothing like us. You may look like a cross-breed, such as myself,” Sirtawmis laughed, “as if someone ripped a Halfling and a goat and glued the Halfling top to the goat bottom – but I assure you, there’s not many like you here in – how did you say it? – the ‘Prime Material Plane.’”
“You know us bards,” IAmSposta chuckled, “we like to fancy things up. Home sounds so…”
“Mortal?” Sirtawmis chuckled as he took another drink of his Khoukzero.
“Yes,” IAmSposta laughed. “Mortal.”
“You mentioned some people answered your summons?” Sirtawmis muttered. “Who do we got?”
“Funny you should ask,” IAmSposta commented. “Here comes one now.”
In walked an almond skinned elf, signs that she was a desert elf from her gorgeous skin. Her elegant walk showed she was educated and knew it as she made her way towards the table.
Sirtawmis sighed. “You hired on an elf?”
“I needed someone intelligent to talk to,” IAmSposta muttered. “Certainly not going to get educated stories out of you. Besides, she’s a powerful wizard – knows a spell call ‘Wall of Words’ – works like ‘Wall of Force’ – but she keeps talking and it holds an enemy back. So there’s a lot I can learn from AEDorsay.”
The next to enter was a leonin – and by the looks of it, a barbarian as he wore rugged clothing and had a club slung over his shoulder.
“Great, and you hired a pet,” Sirtawmis muttered as the leonin came over and introduced itself as “DeadpanC_C.”
“So you pronounce the ‘underscore’ as underscore,” Sirtawmis asked. “It’s not just C… C?”
“Are you of nobility that you have ‘Sir’ in your name?” DeadpanC_C asked.
Sirtawmis opened his mouth to respond and instead took another deep drink of his Khoukzero.
Next, a goblin approached, bearing the symbol of ‘Biadh’ – the god of food and gluttony. The goblin did a deep bow and introduced himself as “Theology of Bagels.”
Sirtawmis shook his head, “Wait. That’s your name? Not just your belief? Shouldn’t your name just be Bagles?”
The goblin seemed puzzled by the question.
Sirtawmis looked at IAmSposta, “Just… what did you put in the parchment that you attracted this crew?”
“A parchment about fighting those of the O’Gee’Elle,” IAmSposta smirked.
Next to come in was a stout dwarf who was taller than the average dwarf – but still had the bushy beard and eye brows.
“Are you a little tall to be a dwarf,” AEDorsay asked.
“I think she just made a Spelljammer Battles reference,” Sirtawmis chuckled.
The dwarf introduced himself as Drakenbrine.
“Sounds like an elf name,” Sirtawmis muttered.
Sirtawmis was glad to see one of his kin come in – an orc – and by the looks of the fancy robes and clothing, a Monk. The Monk bowed, “My name is Amnon_Balderk, and I have come to answer the parchment I’ve seen around town.”
“You pronounce the underscore in your name too?” Sirtawmis asked. “Why doesn’t anyone believe in spaces anymore? Like a proper first and last name.”
Next came in a changeling, who shifted their shape a number of times, to show their ability to take on any face. “My name is Midnight_Plat,” the changeling nodded.
“Seriously, IAmSposta, did you ask for people with underscores in their name to apply?”
Next came in a Halfling, barely paying attention as he was mixing chemicals. He bumped into Midnight_Plat and nearly dropped the vial that was bubbling; only Midnight_Plat’s fast hands as a Rogue caught the mixture before it hit the floor.
“It is most fortunate you caught that,” the Halfling Artificer named Wysperra said, heaving a deep sigh of relief. “Otherwise it would have been rather explosive and eviscerated us all.”
Next to come in was a gnome who seemed to be talking to himself. Sirtawmis raised an eye brow and whispered, “I bet he has a underscore in his name too.” The gnome introduced himself as, “Quar1on,” and Sirtawmis shook his head. “Quaroneon?”
“No, it’s a 1,” the gnome corrected. “As in a numeral.”
“But you could spell it one,” Sirtawmis argued.
“No, you see my patron – he names us, and each of us have a number, I was the first,” the gnome warlock explained.
Sirtawmis gritted his teeth – now he wasn’t sure which was worse – the underscore name or the name with a number in it.
Next was a small Kobold druid who came in wearing a wolf scalp on their head. He continued to itch his head as he introduced himself as Antonsirius.
“Why do you keep itching your head?” Quar1on asked, curious.
“Oh, I just killed this wolf, and it apparently had fleas, so now I do,” the druid answered.
Everyone quickly moved away from him.
Sirtawmis was astonished as what seemed to be the final member joined; a massive hippo form, a gun slung over their shoulder had a wide, hippo-grin and said, “My name is Thorrison and I’m a ranger. IAmSposta hired me to lead you through the dangers ahead.”
“The biggest danger is ourselves,” Sirtawmis muttered and took another drink.

Lol. Nice try, but no. That pronoun has no power here, and you cannot ken the divine glory of the bagel or its patron. It is too wonderful for the mortal mind. To lofty to apprehend.
Also, Bagels was taken when I signed up for DDB. Believe me, I tried.
If I based a dnd party off the main people who post in this thread they would be the following:
.IAMsposta: satyr bard
😁
I confess I was all “they gonna love that”…
100%
I will confess when I thought of satyr I forgot about minotuar. I was going for a unicorn theme

TO BE CONTINUED…?
Wow. I love this. I can update the list:
-IAMsposta: Minotaur/satyr glamour bard noble ( I chose a race with horns so that way sposta is a unicorn and I chose bard cause sposta is kinda our leader as they started this whole thing and they’re funny
-AEDorsay: githyanki scribe wizard sage (githyanki cause they live forever and spend all their time practicing their skills)
-Amnon_Balderk: orc mercy monk soldier ( basically your character is based on your arc from going from [insert topic of which we do. Not speak of] hater to a nice person just chilling in the threads having a good time just like a reformed orc warlord)
-drakenbrine: mountain dwarf Draconic sorcerer( you’re a dwarf simply cause you’re a good mix of conviction and laidbackness. Sorcerer because unless I’m mistaken you’re a relative newcomer to this thread and dnd compared to people like AEDorsay who have been playing for decades and you’re still figuring out the extent of your power)
-sirtawmis: halforc fighter (you are this because your posts are mostly short, straight to the point, and efficient.)
-theologyofbagles: goblin life cleric (obviously cleric. But goblin cause they often have a reverence of odd things, worship them as deities such as bagels)
-deadpanC_C: leonin barbarian cause your a bit wild and like to fight the divine entity’s (aka the mods) just like the leonin)

It’s on my list of things I would like to get. I love painting and I love the customization of heroforge but I don’t love the pricing! I also would like to get in there and design 3D terrain bc I love big chunky maps

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
Pretty sure I have three or four different versions of Poser on that, lol.

nah, I am heading to bed tonight, lol. But I will return tomorrow.
note: I am righteously accused of walls of text, lol. I am also one of those older ladies who has been playing a long time and who has no problem changing any rule in the game that is inconvenient.
better to ask more specific questions or I will just ramble on and on.
sorta like right now.

==========================
TO BE CONTINUED…?

Lol. Nice try, but no. That pronoun has no power here, and you cannot ken the divine glory of the bagel or its patron. It is too wonderful for the mortal mind. To lofty to apprehend.
Also, Bagels was taken when I signed up for DDB. Believe me, I tried.
I will confess when I thought of satyr I forgot about minotuar. I was going for a unicorn theme
