Lonely goes to investigate. Lonely at the moment, Is shades of grey.
The moan seems to be coming from one of the pillars that are shaped like pained people struggling under the weight of the ceiling.
*Hey Archfey. I will try to continue Guest's thing at some point, it just takes time and that is something I am short on.*
*its completely fine, take your time*
they go over to it.
does truesight reveal anything? Lonely has truesight.
You see a large, marble man straining under an unbearable burden. His face is twisted in intense pain. A weary voice mutters, "Help."
“Alright? How?”
"I am being crushed. Take my place for but a moment and I will return to my position. I don't have a good grip, I need a rest." the statue says this desperately.
They take their place.
The statue collapses on the stone floor and starts breathing heavily. His great stone chest heaves up in down as he gulps in big gasping breathes of air.
“Are you okay?”
After a few more seconds of gasping he responds with a sort of laugh. Soon, the laugh grows and he begins roaring, sending echoes all throughout the marble room and only pausing every now and then to catch some breath. Eventually the laughing begins to subside.
“Explain or I’m letting go.” They look serious.
The statue sits up breathing heavily. He looks thoughtful for a moment, "I don't think you can let go." He smiles a marble smile, "Don't worry, I will explain. First off, thank you so much for this little break. It has been a lifesaver. The thing is, I am not sure I am willing to go back to that. I never enjoyed it, it was a punishment." He smiles again, "But I am sure that you will enjoy it immensely."
*Bear with me. Your character won't be stuck there forever, I wouldn't do that. Besides, you character could probably escape on their own, but please don't do that yet.*
*alright*
”Actually, I’m feeling great.”
*by the way, Lonely is Absurdly strong. They have a strength of 30*
"You feel great? Then surely you won't mind taking my place." Even with a strength of 30, the pressure of the weight is almost unbearable. Every second it gets worse and there is no comfortable position you can find.
The statue climbs to his feet and stretches. His back pops with audible booms. "Oh this feels great." he says, " Well, I should probably introduce myself, my name is Hyas, firstborn of Atlas. These," he gestures to the rest of the struggling statues, "Are my siblings, all sons of Atlas the sky carrier."

*Bye!*
”ah, that makes sense. “I’m lonely, the lord of isolation.”
"Lonely," Hyas says in a booming voice, "What an odd name. Well, you won't have to worry about being lonely now, for you are surrounded by my brothers and will be for quite some time."
You can hear pained groanings and moanings in your mind that seem to be coming from the other statues. They started off faint, but they have grown so consumed with pain that the sound barely allows you to hear what Hyas is saying. The voices seem angry. They seem desperate.
Hyas continues, "You see, this was my punishment. I have been trapped as a pillar in Hell holding up that unbearable weight for all eternity. You know why?" He doesn't let you answer, "Because of my foolish brothers' pride. Me and my brothers were mighty giants capable of incredible feats of strength. I saw our strength and I wondered why we were stuck under the gods, obeying all their laws and commands when together we had enough might to contest their rule."
"So, I led my brothers against Mount Celestia and we were a force to be reckoned with. We flattened forests and drained seas, the very base of the celestial mountain shook at the approach of our footsteps. We were unstoppable, but we were our own downfall."
"We were unstoppable, but we didn't stand together. These miserable wretches all tried to win glory for themselves, rushing at the throne trying to claim it for themselves and even fighting each other. In our chaos and disarray the gods were able to defeat us. Like our father, we were immortal so stopping us wasn't simple. We had to be trapped, imprisoned in some horrible way in order to prevent us from returning." He smiles, "But no prison is fail safe."
Every moment that passes feels like a lifetime. The burden has become unbearable, a crushing force of unimaginable magnitude. You can't move, you can barely even breathe for fear of losing your loose grip and being crushed. What's worse is that Hyas's voice rumbles through you, wracking your body with pain and causing the weight to intensify with every word that passes from his lips.
"The gods are cruel oafs who lack imagination, so they sentenced us to a fate similar to our fathers. We were to be crushed beneath the earth, struggling to hold up an unbearable weight. The gods saw this as a way to punish us for thinking greatly of our strength. I have been trapped under the weight of the world for centuries. I am so lucky that you came along and decided to take my place." He laughs a rumbling laugh and seems to grow in size slightly. He looks down at himself, "Ah, I see that I am returning to my true size. Part of my punishment was to take away my true form, but now it is returning!"
Hyas grins frighteningly, "I can feel that my strength has grown. The gods punishment has backfired! Constantly holding their burden has caused my strength to increase a hundredfold!" He flexes his arms and rolls his shoulders, causing boulder sized muscles of stone to ripple like waves. He grows several more yards in height. "Soon," his voice rolling like thunder, "I will be so large that the sea will be a mere puddle and forests will be less than grass! The largest city won't even be comparable to an ant hill! My strength will be so great that I will tear down the celestial mountain and crush the gods beneath their own rubble!"
"But before I leave, I have but one question," He leers down at you, "What possessed you to think that taking the burden of a giant in Hell would be a good idea? Did you really think I was going to return to torment? To take up my eternal torture again? This is Hell! No one in their right mind would ever want to stay here! Why did you do it?"
You begin to feel a low rumble coming from the unbearable burden. The pained and angry groaning of the brothers seems to grow in volume.

The rest of Atlas’s sons cry out in agony and desperation. Hyas starts at their voices. “No! You fools are weak! You shall stay here and suffer for causing our downfall!” He looks frightened. He takes a step away, he hasn’t noticed the shadow.
You Leave With Us Or Not At All
”No!” He roars. He takes another step away. The rumbling you hear grows stronger. Much stronger.
FATHER!
The rumble has grown to a thunderous roar and continues to increase in power. “No! I won’t go back!” Hyas yells in desperate despair. His voice sounds weak and small compared to the rumble that is filling the world. The giant suddenly seems very small. He turns and tries to run…

*Yep*
Unless somehow theres some sort of magic present that can stop Lonely from existing, they disappear. They then create a new body for themself out of a nearby shadow.
*If this seems confusing, Lonely’s true form is in the shadowfell, and they can create weaker versions of themselves and make them disappear at will. Also, if they have more than one, the more recently created ones are weaker until an older one is destroyed*

the shadow on the floor follows Hyas.
*Makes sense.*
As you leave the pillar, the rumbling booms. The top and bottom part of the middle begin to move, growing and extending towards Hyas. The top and bottom of the pillar unfold into two, stone hands, fingers stretched to grasp the fleeing titan-son. One stone hand grabs him by the arm, the other grabs his leg. They yank him back to his appointed spot, dragging him across the ground. Hyas howls with anger, rage, pain, and fear as he his pulled back to his doom. He desperately clutches at the smooth marble, leaving deep gouges in the polished floor. The pillar-arms pull him up to the pillar’s place and suddenly the screaming and rumbling cease. It is as if it never happened. The silence is deafening. The stone statue of Hyas has returned to his normal size and now stands frozen, bent under the unbearable weight that is crushing down on him. Except, his statue is different now, his mouth is now gagged by stone cloth. The speaker of the sons of Atlas can no longer beg for mercy. The stone titan’s face is twisted in agony and rage burns in his eyes. Just looking at these statues makes you ache in remembrance of the overwhelming burden.
*Fun fact: Hyas is the name of a god from Greek mythology who was also the son of Atlas. Other than the name, they are pretty different characters. Question: Was this enjoyable? Was it fun to roleplay through this? I had fun, but I would like feed back on this type of thing. I don’t see others do it a lot but I wanted to try it out.*

*I got to go, I will probably be back soon.*
*Bye!*
”ah, that makes sense. “I’m lonely, the lord of isolation.”
*To Friendly Archfey's last post*
*Hyas also has a strength of 30.*
Hyas hasn’t noticed yet, but all the other statues of his brothers in the room have are now staring directly at him with hateful gazes frozen in stone.
*sorry for not responding, i wasn’t on*
“Because I’m actually a nice person sometimes.”
A shadow appears on the ground next to Hyas. It resembles the general shape of lonely.
*It’s totally fine. Understandable.*
“Sacrificing yourself is foolishness.” His height continues to increase. He smiles as it does. “Now, I shall take my leave.”
Free Us
The rest of Atlas’s sons cry out in agony and desperation.
*Do you try to escape?*
*cool!*
”Well that’ll be a story to tell.” They walk off, but the shadow on the ground appears to be pointing at Hyas and laughing, though it makes no sound.
