Verdan looks around the room and wrinkles his nose at the smell, but is otherwise happy. "Thank you. I've stayed in worse places, so this is practically a mansion by comparison. Let me tell you, a wooden coffin does nothing for a sore back."

Disclaimer: I'm not an optimizer. If I say something that's not fine-tuned to perfection, that's on purpose. D&D isn't an online tournament, it's a TTRPG where your imagination and the DM's compliance are the limits. I don't do "metas". If I can have fun with my thematically cool and still viable (both in and out of combat) concept, I'm happy. I'm not going for optimal stats; I'm going for optimal fun.

"I need to return to my duties, but I must ask you to stay in this area. Down the hall is a cafeteria and commons area. For security and safety reasons, you must not go to other areas."
Verdan nods his head. "Appreciated and understood." As Monty leaves the room, Verdan sighs heavily and readjusts his goggles. "Not one for chatting much, is he now?" With that side comment, he goes over to one of the bunkbeds, slings his backpack off his shoulder and onto the ground next to it, then proceeds to ignore the bed entirely as he walks up the wall and onto the ceiling, where he then sits down cross-legged and starts to meditate. *I don't know why, but I find the idea of a dhampir only sleeping/resting upside down to be hilarious*

*imma go play Subnautica for a bit, see y'all in about an hour!*
*Great game choice! See ya then, and remember to always watch out while driving your Cyclops/Seamoth! I've literally fallen out of my chair more than once because I got the [BEEP] scared out of me by accidentally running into a fish XD*

Verdan started to get restless after about an hour, so he hopped down from the ceiling and wandered around the facility aimlessly, remembering not to go into Sector 3 for whatever reasons there may be.

*ooh, good idea. That's true, Verdan comes from the Sword Coast so it's not like he's ever seen a protogen before lol (very cute proto btw)* *tbh I was considering using my sona for this, but the drow dhampir idea is one I've had for a while, so I thought I might as well use him*
His curiosity piqued by the strange being that is Monty, Verdan walked down to the portal room in Sector 2, where he saw Monty working on the portal. "So, what exactly are you? I've been many places and seen things most would dismiss as either a drunk man's tale or blasphemy of the highest order, but never have I seen something as... functional as you." He chuckled as his eyes temporarily unfocused, lost in a sea of memories. "Flesh golems are crude necromantic imitations of life. Iron golems? Unthinking soulless constructs. Even those with strange arcane devices to replace lost limbs carry themselves with a sense that something's missing. Yet you seem to be complete, for want of a better word."

"Most of me is biological, at least on the outside, but the mechanical parts of me are made of titanium and infused with graphene layers. My fur is a tasteful and slick white. I have been told it is very soft. I have therapeutic heaters built into my forearms and chest. I have infrared, night vision, and standard vision. I can run at a top speed of 45 kph and am programmed with countless multipurpose protocols. My processor can store up to 100 zettabytes of information and can do advanced mathematical calculations in %0.000023 of a second. Is there anything else you would like to know?"
"That would also be nice, thank you. It would be my pleasure to get to know someone so interesting as you better."
