"Come with me, and you'll be. in a world of pure imagination. Take a look, and you'll see, into your imagination. we'll begin, with a spin. traveling in a world of my creation. what we'll see will defy explanation!" ~Willy Wonka, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
their is no light without dark. no calm without storm. no heroes without villains. I, unfortunately am the dark. I am the storm. I. Am. The. Villain (not really considering I'm a forever player and never get the chance to DM)
I’m going to head up and go to the library, hoping to meet with the librarian to check out some books to better understand my magic.
You see your friend, Charlie Breckham, the one-eyed librarian, hunched over a book as usual. His burn-scarred hands are splattered with ink, as usual, and his clothes are covered in candle wax, also as usual. He looks up when he hears you enter and smiles brightly. "I've got some new stock for you. They're barely even singed!" He whispers.

"so, you live here your whole life?" the firbolg asks Auburn
"Yeah, you just ride into the town for the festival?"
"not really. the festival being this time of year was pure luck. I'm a traveling minstrel, and i try to spread joy and happiness wherever i can, so i came to this 'godawful town' "

"The people here could use joy, but I'm not sure you're enough to bring it to them. That's not to discredit your abilities of course."

"Sure, just some mead," She grabs her pouch and grabs a few coins, "Here you are."
He counts them eagerly, then pulls out a bottle. "Exactly half, but I'll pay the other." He pours her a glass of mead. Cheap stuff, but the odds of getting honey-based drinks out here is low n the first place, so it's probably not worth complaining about the price.

"i don't care if i make thw whole town happy, as long as i give at least one person a spark of joy, that makes a difference. attitudes are like plagues, they're contagious. i don't need to make everyone happy, that jsut isn't possible. what i do need to do is plant the seeds of joy in others and nurture them"

I pick up the books. What are they about, and what languages are they in?
They are about widely varying topics relating to the divine, the occult, and the arcane, seemingly randomly assorted. They are mostly in draconic, with a sprinkling of celestial thrown in. They are still warm from the fires they were snatched from.

I take the ones in draconian. “Thank you so much! By the way, would you happen to have anything on undead?”
Charlie grins. "Of course, of course! I was hoping you'd take an interest!" he whispers back before scurrying like a spider to get some hidden books on the top shelf.
He jumps down, landing on his bare feet. "These ones have some text in celestial, but it's mostly draconic. If you ever need something translated, just come to me alright? And don't let anyone see them!"
