Good, subclasses don’t matter (yet) and you do not need to follow the growth formula exactly. Now, pay attention and take notes. This will be on the test *clicks onto another slide* Part one: Essence and Flavor. Every class has its own unique flavor. Some are all about getting in and destroying your enemies. Others pick them off one by one with huge burst damage, and others provide utility. So sel, what is your class’s flavor? What purpose does it provide? What fantasy would you be fulfilling when you play this class
*this is hilarious and i love it*

they can soulcast (turn objects into more different objects) and create illusions. Not huge blasts of damage. They’re not fighters. More backseat helpers i guess. I think. They are good at espionage and sneaking and things like that. I’m not entirely sure how Soulcasting helps. I guess they are more of support characters, not go out in the front and attack everyone.
Full caster? Or half?

This just got a lot more complex. For their spells, give them a good amount Illusion and Enchantment, then a decent amount of Transumation and Abjuration, a few Conjuration and Evocation. Don’t give them many Divination or Necromancy spells. For ASI’s use the normal 4th, 8th, 12th 16th and 19th. For subclass features use (Level subclass gained) 6th 10th and 14th. Do they have any special resources they need to keep track of? Because if not I have an idea.
I don’t think so…
Well, actually, maybe yes, but I’ll just incorporate that into subclass stuff
Okay. Explain soul cast to me

In canon, it’s where you use Stormlight (it’s just a different form of Investiture like Allomancy in Mistborn) to change an object into another object. So for example, you could soulcast fabric into stone. Or metal into oil. Or skin into crystal. Stuff like that. K. Now that we have that down, we can move on to part two *clicks to next slide* Table and Features. Now you need to determine what class features this class would get. This is somewhat easier (and also harder in a way) since this is based off something else. These class features should be things that are considered easy to do in that world, that anyone with the ability can learn with enough time and effort. These should Not specialized skills that are only used by one specific character and are only used by others once or twice. That’s why we have subclasses. So keep in general and make them useful in certain situations, but not completely useless in others.

When I wake up sometimes. And at other random times
Well thats good to know, because it has been happening a lot as of recent and I don't know why. Anyway how's that magnum opus coming along?

Hmm *Squints* If you say so.
It's the truth
Ah but you've told the truth before and at the end of the day it became a lie. We will have to hope this time is different.

Yo, I'm Himy (He/him) not as active as I use to be, but I'm here from time to time. I don't got much else to say.
"From the stars of the inner sea, from the tower of insight, from the four corners of paradise, let them know; their story is filled with blessings. Only those free of sin may pass... Garden of Avalon!”
”The elements coalesce, amalgamate, and bring forth the star that interweaves all creation. Bow down with death! Enuma Elish!”

I think I'll go for the bloodthirsty cackling madman. Someone who looked too deep into things, consumed too much Madman's knowledge. Still a hunter though.

Monks made a list of spells that correspond to each of the Ten Essences so I have a spell list for Soulcasting. *Monks is amazing btw*
Hey y’all, you can call me Sel or Julian or whatever, I don’t really care. Pronouns are they/he. Some things about be, I like reading, writing, dnd, theater, art. I have an art doc and my yt channel linked below. Pms are always open if you need to talk. Love y’all <3

Monks here! Selina asked me to work on this project too, and i actually have the complete soul casting spell list as well as the lore
so basically in this world there are ten essences *theyre just this worlds element system* air smoke fire crystal plant blood oil metal rock and flesh. Using their powers they can turn anything into anything else that incorporates one of these 10 essences. For example the corpses of kings and such are soul cast into stone to be kept as statues, and rock and such is soul cast into grain and meat to keep the military from starving. I hope this helped
edit dang i wish the forums were auto update
I’m a decent DM and an above average rules lawyer
I have several complete Pokedexes | I may be stupid, but at least I’m not smart!
Stay Paranoid!! My Drummer given title is… Swift as the Dragon
May the dice roll ever in your favor
Seems like monks did half the work for me. Maybe you could cast transmutation spells within expending a spell slot, or cast them one level higher once per long rest. Though my help can only go so far as I still haven’t read whatever that is from
