Not really. Been making a character I really like.
Yeah, I haven't really done much lately either. Wanna tell me about that character some?
Sure! He's a glutton with an ego, both gourmand and gourmet. I'm still working on his backstory, but what I'm starting with is one short monologue for his childhood:
"I wish I could say my childhood was miserable, or that I grew up happily. The truth, as always, is never so simple. I come up with these dramatic stories, but really they're a sort of wish fulfillment. I always wanted something bad to happen to me, so my parents would give me special attention. So they would tell me how brave I was, how proud they were of me, and then comfort me and get me a cheeseburger from the local fast food chain. But of course, none of that happened, except for the last one from time to time. I have no justification, and I need none."
He's done truly terrible things to himself in the past due to a lack of patience or common sense, including burning his face off eating an eldritch fire monster. He fights with his bare hands and is absurdly resilient, but all this isn't what makes him so good.
He's clever and kind and assertive, and he loves abandoned, thrown-away things like monsters. He wants to show the world that he's there for them.
