Cold dead hands makes sense, because your body becomes cold after you die. Cold personality also makes sense, as it's the opposite of someone outgoing, who is described as warm and sunny. Neither of those have to do with being evil, and death is only somewhat associated with the cold and that's more because you literally become cold after dying than the cold being deadly in itself (cold dead hands is usually written out as "cold, dead hands" showing that it's more of a list of things then a direct association) that last one is just a true statistic though, so there is some level of connection, but not a direct equivalence
