One of the days that they were worshiping it something or someone basically shattered the orb, causing those near it including the character to basically go blind. The others that had gone blind basically abandoned like worshiping the orb while the character that I'm making, didn't stop, and eventually caught the attention of one of the light deities. 

Any thoughts?

 Nice, it could be like a deep dwarf, but a homebrew version. A Void Dwarf!

And the light deities turn him into a Radiant Dwarf, cuz, you know, light

 they should turn him into a Radiant Void Dwarf

 So he becomes an Oreo dwarf
