Aig amannan bidh mi air mo ghlacadh ro mhòr an-dràsta...The first thing you should do is find a village and then build a trading hall and a tree farm for fletchers. Then light up EVERYTHING. And you should be able to get stuff like diamond tools and armor without going in caves.

Actually. One of the smartest things I've done was trapping a zombie. (Coolfact. If their is closed trapdoors zombies and other mobs pathfind off and fall. So you can use this to trap a zombie.) Then make a manual iron farm.

Really the hard part is the early game. Trading basically lets you bypass the mining in the early game. Making it so much easier.
