There are a looot more people. There are a surprising number of devils and humanoids in the court house, all running out of the main exit or through collapsed walls, towards the portal.
”yeahyeahyeah I’ll be fine completely fine. Just in case I ever… run into them without you, what did they look like?…”
He grabs as many as he can, over and over, saving a few at a time, trying to keep everyone he can keep calm.
"Hol Horse from Jojo's bizarre adventure. He has a gun with something like death's hand on it."
Eventually, most of the courthouse is evacuated, the hundreds of devils and other creatures safe in Nessus. The Jailor closes the portal.
”I do not know who that is… but they have a gun? Alright, I’ll keep that in mind…”
He nods to the Jailor "I don't think we've met just yet. I'm Ragnerious, the new unwilling hire." He puts out a hand to shake.
"They are looking for you specifically. Have you made any major enemies recently?"
She extends a hand as well, covered in glowing tattoos of swirling stars.
”ello, I’m the Jailor.”
”I don’t think so… I mean, I’ve spent most of my time the past few… however long it’s been, here. Maybe they’re trying to get back at one of my siblings… but why?” They mutter to themself, stressed.
He squeezes just enough to show respect "A pleasure to meet you, even if I hate this place." His chest having tattoos of a berserker's fury. *Potential love interest unlocked?/jk*
"You should take a seat and just sunbath with me for now, let your worries go." He pops a juice box into existence and hands it to them.
”yeah, Hell is NOT a pleasant place. Do you have any relation to that giant dragon at the court? I mean, I read the file before he was sent down here and I heard he had a grandson he was defending?” *potential love interest unlocked?!? //jk//maybe not jk?*
”alright…” they take a seat and the juice box, still slightly worried.
"That would be my grandfather. Like I said, pleasure to meet you, I am Ragnerious, kin of Ragnaris." He bows sarcastically before sighing and looking up "The alcohol here isn't bad, although it isn't strong enough for my tastes."
"Sometimes you just have to accept things and enjoy life." Shade scoffs from inside Jason's shadow at the first part
“if it was any more alcoholic they’d have to legally classify it as a poison, it’s kinda disappointing…”
”I don’t think shade agrees…”
"It truly is. Six barrels of their strongest stuff and I still managed to stay sober, I might just ask for poison next time."
"No, Shade just knows I'm being a hypocrite by saying that."
“Good plan. Hey, have you ever tried Thrilljoy? It’s pure abyssal alcohol. Most of the layers banned it since it’s from the abyss, but I have a secret stash of it in my room in Asmodeus’ tower. Most potent stuff in existence.” “ah. Well, how can you tell me that when you don’t do that yourself? Oh, and also, THERES SOMEONE TRYING TO KILL ME!”
"Sounds like something worth trying. We should probably stay focused on our jobs for now, also you should join in the pit fiend training sessions, you could probably teach them a lot."
He feels Jason's aura spike and a bird falls out of the air once more. Jason then heals it and it flies off "Did you forget I could just tear his soul from his body?" Shade places a hand on Jason's shoulder.
“That could be fun… but I’m more of a mage than anything.”
“No… but I’m still worried something might happen to me. I’m still scared…”
”mmm. How far does this immortality go? Like, immunity to aging or dying as a whole?”
"The only thing that can truly kill an immortal like myself is The Mortal Blade, which I am holding right now."
“Alright… uhm, is there only one mortal blade or is it like, a type of weapon?”
"I don't think it would be called The Mortal Blade if there were many."
“Guess so. It just sounds like a sort of mundane name…”
"Well for every bit mundane the name, the blade is every bit extraordinary."
“Sounds interesting, what does it do?”
"It kills immortals, anyone who unsheathes the blade has to be immortal or they simply die. it absorbs immortality, can even kill the immortal celestial dragon."

I wish to spend as much time with my last remaining family member as I can. So again, what would make you reconsider your deal?"
“hmm… what is the total worth… of your hoard?”
"Really? You want my hoard? For what purpose? You are a powerful devil, and I'm sure being an important servant of Asmodeus is bound to be a well-paying career. "
”I know, but you’re a dragon, and I do bet that your hoard means quite a bit to you. I’m a judge, but I’m still a devil, my friend. I’m not trying to hide the fact I want you to suffer as much as physically possible. Though I can’t think of a much better way of doing that than keeping your grandson. But you are quite the nuisance, so this would be the next best thing.”
He growls, but finally calms down. "Fine. If I had to count, my hoard would be valued at around 5,000,000 platinum pieces. But if I give it to you, you'll have to watch out for the hoard mimics. They don’t like to be disturbed."
They look over their law book.
”mm, yes. That will be adequate to pay off the two hundred year sentence. All of your hoard in exchange for the freedom of your grandson. Tell me, will that bring you a similar amount of pain to the servitude of your grandson?” if he tries to lie about it, roll deception.
"Yes. It will be painful. VERY painful." Ragnaris conceals a smirk as he says that last part. He snaps two talons together, and suddenly a large mound of gold and treasure almost as large as he is appears out of nowhere, hovering in the air.
(Abaddon has a passive insight of 40 so I’ll just guess they realize Ragnaris is concealing something or is smirking)

"I did say you would have to watch out for the hoard mimics. They don't exactly take kindly to anyone but me, and let's just say these ones have a little more... pep in their step than a normal hoard mimic." Abaddon has a minus three to all Dex saves, lol.

“I see… it sort of reminds me of a weapon I heard about on another world… the Jathrin dagger or something, forgot what it was exactly. Only weapon capable of killing a god on that world without any fancy magical help.”
A new person is walking around the dome whilst smoking a cigarette. Seemingly in his 40s or 50s, his white hair in a military style crew cut. He’s wearing a black gray striped suit, pants, and vest coupled with a big red tie on his white collar shirt. His nose looks like it’s been broken and fixed several times. Behind him, he’s dragging what appears to be an aluminum baseball bat with chains wrapped around the handle.
The elven cowboy (introed a few pages ago), 145 I think) is watching him from a few hundred feet away, smiling like a madman. He’s aiming his revolver, death’s hand, at him. Or at least in his general direction.
He seems to notice the man, seemingly disappearing, the cold feeling of death and despair, as well of the screams of a dying man pass by. Then they stop, the sound of metal being being dragged across the ground and footstep are now behind him
They turn around, spinning their gun once, twice, before pointing it at them.
”Why Hello There!” They say, cackling.
“The hell do you want?” He doesn’t even turn around, though he stops walking
“Well, I was being paid to kill someone here but someone else paid me to not do that, so now I just feel like killing someone anyways.”
“Doesn’t seem to be my problem. Shove off.” He begins walking once more
“Nobody here is any fun.” They say, pulling the trigger. The bullet shoots right past his ear, just missing him by a fraction of an inch.
“I’m here for a vacation, not a death brawl.”
“You came for a vacation to a death brawl, Pardner.”
“Exactly. You can kill somebody else, fine by me. But don’t pester me, or I’ll have you meeting the man upstairs, capisce?”
“I’m terrified.” He says with a smile, Spinning his revolver in his hand.
He sighs “Idioti. Idioti ovunque.”
“Why’d ya come here anyways, for a vacation?”
“It was his turn to pick.” He taps his bat
“Seems your bat friend has lovely tastes. Now, give me three good reasons I shouldn’t shoot you dead right now?” He says, backing away quickly. Thirty feet, fifty feet, eighty feet, a hundred feet.
“1, you wouldn’t be able to 2, I could kill you 3, in the unlikely scenario that you do kill me, we’re all dead.”
“That could be fun… but I’m more of a mage than anything.”
“No… but I’m still worried something might happen to me. I’m still scared…”
"Well its better to have any help than none, and your help is welcome."
"It won't unless I have to for some reason, if I ever try without that reason Shade will stop me."
“Alright, guess I’ll join in once Abaddon repairs his courthouse.“
“okay… you completely confident you can protect me from… whoever’s trying to kill me?”
"I should probably go help with that, we both know Abaddon needs adult supervisor, otherwise he'll just spend all his time with his boyfriend." He waves goodbye and runs off to find Abaddon.
"Completely. If things go wrong you can just hide in my astral kingdom with Collin. Collin can grow infinitely while in there so no matter what he does he can't win."

She cackles and opens up a portal back to the courthouse, where Abaddon is trapped under a pile of hoard mimics while talking to Ragnaris, while Astaroth tries to help him.
”alright… okay, yeah. I’ll be fine. I still don’t know why they want me dead though…”
He decides to stand a bit behind Abaddon with his arms crossed, simply watching until he is forced to fight.
"I'm not sure they want you dead, it could be dead or alive."

“I see… it sort of reminds me of a weapon I heard about on another world… the Jathrin dagger or something, forgot what it was exactly. Only weapon capable of killing a god on that world without any fancy magical help.”
"I apologize once more for not explaining that before unsheathing it. I am a samurai, it is my duty to protect those who need protecting."
“I see… have you ever actually killed someone with it? I mean, it seems like it’d be a big deal if you killed an immortal.”

”well that’s reassuring… they didn’t clarify?”

(Missed this, sorry.)
Abaddon yelps as the mimics land on top of him, unharmed because of Legal protections, but still squished.
”CALL THEM OFF-…IMMEDIATELY!”
“Oh yeah, how’d you kill me before I put five bullets through your head?”
"I apologize once more for not explaining that before unsheathing it. I am a samurai, it is my duty to protect those who need protecting."

“Hmph. You make 3 stupid assumptions. 1. You assume the bullets will hit. 2. You assume the bullets will pierce 3. You assume that 5 bullets is enough to kill me.”
The only thing I know for certain is that I exist
“Fine, i’ll just have to use a bit more than five.” He says, his revolver only containing five bullets.
”and by the way, I am sure they will hit, and I am sure they will pierce.”
"Sorry, but the only control I have over them is telling them to guard my hoard. Other than that, they won't listen." More and more mimics begin to fall out of the pile, as well as chunks of hoard itself. "Please take this, it is getting quite heavy."
