All but the first one, the special one, fail the saving throw and are scorched, although less so Than normal, as it seems the magical cage that he’s in dampens his attacks. The two jump back a bit but hold the cage with magic, and the big one casts hold person again. DC 28.

This probably gives them enough time to fly through the portal and make it a few hundred feet, at the top of the sky of Nessus, a giant, country sized cloudy cave right below the mostly frozen ocean of Cania. So by the time he’s back again, there about 10 miles high over Nessus, and approaching the trench. They don’t listen to his words.
"Fine. Have it your way I suppose. I hope you enjoy your lives while they last." He grabs the bars of the cage and begins to tug with all the might he can muster, hopefully able to make it through the magic and metal "Abaddon will die." Athletics:48
They manage to, with great effort, make a small Bend in the enchanted giant, burning cage. It is just big enough for him to make it through if they squeeze and it’ll take a bit, around ten seconds. (Very, very strong cages) the pit fiends notice and stop in their tracks.
”HEY! STOP THAT OR I’LL RIP OUT YOUR THROAT!” One says, maneuvering to block the entrance, holding out their mace.
the axe suddenly appears spinning toward rag and slashes the guard in the back.
Attack: 33 Damage: 68 thunder
He shrieks in agony and falls a few dozen feet before catching themself and spreading their wings, having lost control of their flight and whipping around violently to find their attacker.
Rag grabs the axe, placing it at his side "Anyone else?"
the axe sends a shiver up his arm, very happy to be back with its master. it shows him images of chopping the (demons/devils???) in half, with an excited plea.
He sends his love back to the axe, and tells it he will let them crush these devils together.
extreme excitement, plus a readiness. it begins to glow brighter and lights up, all damage it deals is fire now.

Ragnaris, who is still falling, checks to make sure there are no other demons trying to catch the cage.
Perception: 42
There are hundreds, from all sides of the miles wide chasm, diving towards them at breakneck speeds. Some are catching up, no longer afraid of him. Or just more afraid of the devil living in the spire right over there.
(If he uses his Flame Breath, about how many would he hit?)
Flame Breath recharge: 4
*at least a quarter of them, probably. But there are a looooot of them, around 10 percent being pit fiends*
He casts maddening darkness, and centers it where the demons are grouped closest together. Any of them within a 60 foot sphere must succeed on a DC 30 Wis save or take 30 psychic damage.
(I know the demons have Devil's Sight, but it's a big AoE spell that deals some decent damage.)

“Oh-… don’t do that… you might get burnt.” They say, hoping the salamander will translate. He grabs onto their arm and pulls him back.
The other Pit Fiend on the other side bolts, its magical grip on the cage weakening and leaving the big one to hold it up by itself. It looks at them, heavily concerned, struggling to hold up the cage itself as the other two are no longer present.
(reminder, they are 10 miles off the ground in the ninth layer of hell)

He casts maddening darkness, and centers it where the demons are grouped closest together. Any of them within a 60 foot sphere must succeed on a DC 30 Wis save or take 30 psychic damage.

“Will he be okay?” They ask the lizard.
Many of the devils perish or fall from the sky, before catching themselves on the rocks or with their wings. Others, like bone and horned devils, dive out of the darkness. (None of the devils here can make that save.
The others dive towards the cage, and some are emerging from caves below to catch the cage as well.
"Do you want to reconsider my offer? Because my axe want to slice you clean in half." He holds up the axe in both hands as he begins to step out of the cage, squeezing through the hole he made previously.

“IF YOU… DO THAT.. I WILL DROP THE CAGE…”
“I’m… Lonely. And what was his name again?”
"I can fly." He steps out and climbs on top of the cage, two giant red dragon wings sprout out of his back "This is your last chance."

“F-Fine…” he says, as if he was in pain with saying it, almost wimpering. The portal between the court room and Nessus closes as they say that.
